Second time & Just as Great

Went to 400 coups last year and had the Degustation with wine pairing which was fantastic. This time we decided to go with Appetizers & a main course. I had the Buffalo milk mozzarella which was good and my husband had the Veal tartar which he loved! As a meal I had the Guinea fowl breast which was... read more

I hadn’t doubted Les 400 Coups would be good, but it turned out to be excellent. The tasting menu showed what the chef could do, and the chef could do plenty! Each course led beautifully to the next, culminating in the most tender pork cheek I could imagine, and ending with delightful 3-flavor desserts. The wait staff were attentive and... More

Simple, fresh food which is also deceptively-complex. The pork cheeks were to die for. One of the best meals I've ever had. Service and ambience equal the food. It's a charmer

It was serendipitous that we ate at this exceptional restaurant. We walked back from the Latin Quarter and chanced upon the host setting up for the evening. It being a Saturday night, I didn't think they'd have an open table, but he was so accommodating and penciled us in for 9:30. The decor is industrial modern and very tasteful. Every... More

Did the whole nine yards. Cocktails, appetizer, main, cheese dish and dessert. All were exquisitely prepared. Suckling pig was delicious. Be up on your French wines. Wine list is nice but a lot of private labels. You will have to take waiters word for it. Our waiter was very helpful for all the dishes and wines. Hard to get reservations... More

My partner and I recently went to Les 400 coups as our Christmas gift to one another. Our overall experience was fabulous. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu along with the wine pairings. Each course and wine pairing were innovative and delicious. In addition, the wait staff was warm and welcoming from start to finish. My only critique, is... More

Prix fixe lunch for 2 or 3 courses. We chose parsnip soup and arctic char. Both were outstanding. Chose not to have dessert but it looked delicious as well.

Located at eastern edge of old montreal and outside the core tourist zone, it's probably the 'word of mouth' that draws patrons into this Gem. Grabbed the only res spot available for 6:00pm on a chilly Thursday night. The server efficiently grabbed jackets from our party of six. The menu was delightfully concise with half a dozen starters and half... More

Solo diner here to check out the gastronomy, and not disappointed. Staff attentive and know their wines, which were a quirky mix of different varietals. Unlike a previous poster stated, they will in fact make a cosmopolitan cocktail, but it's true, no salad (the Keg is not far away). I started with the pate, a country style terrine, with apple,... All dishes were exquisite. The detail on each plate is astounding and each bite is incredibly fresh. I didn't know it would be possible to eat a delicious dessert and feel lighter afterward! Yes, the menu is short but each appetizer, main, and dessert that we tried was excellent. Not a restaurant for you if you want heavy, rich french... More
