Very very good

Boudin Blanc was super yum. Catfish was very good also. All my colleagues enjoyed their courses too. Excellent wine list. Modern and airy dining room.

enjoyed dinner here during our F1 visit at the suggestion of the concierge at the Westin. Vesper martini was excellent and overall quality of food and presentation as good as any top restauarant in Canada. Server was well informed and detailed the items as requested . Prompt and very professional service.Locally harvested Quebec foods on this menu make this restaurant... More

We dined at Les 400 Coups as a group of 7 on a Saturday night. We all had the 5 course tasting menu (2 apps, 1 main, 2 desserts) with the wine pairing. It was an absolutely fantastic meal with interesting food creations and flavorful explosions. From the gravlax, veal tortellini, and lamb, to the Greek and French wines topped... More

Such a beautiful, unique, smart , tasteful place. And yet they are so nice, with brilliant service, and even reasonable prices. I love how the dishes here are not 'heavy'. We came with huge expectations after reading the outstanding reviews and definitely joining all those who gave 5 points.

Perhaps with so many outstanding reviews one sets his/her expectations too high. Although the ambience was great, the staff friendly, and our bottle of wine delicious, both of our entrees (Red Pepper Gnocchetti and Maple Suckling Pig) were good, but certainly not memorable or exceptional. Neither of us could detect any lavender flavor in the Mr. Legault cucumber appetizer and... More

We had the great pleasure to dine here on a trip to Montreal. We had found this restaurant on line and it was suggested by our concierge -- and for good reason. This is a quaint restaurant in Vieux Port, and was relatively casual as most things in Montreal. We had excellent wine, food and service. The menu, while not... More

For our last night in Montreal, we initially had a reservation at one of the best-reviewed (and most expensive) steak houses in town, but after reading some glowing reviews for Les 400 Coups, cancelled that reservation and dined here instead. We are VERY glad that we did. Beautifully prepared food, ingredients are fresh in every sense of the word, incredible... More

My wife and I had a most memorable meal here. Every course was something out of the ordinary but not so much that was a leap of faith. The food combinations were extremely creative and expertly prepared. The flavors were diverse but complimented each other very well. The service staff was very knowledgeable and ready to share their insights. The... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
