Great atmosphere for young 'after hours' type clientele. A wonderful selection of tapas and delicious meals and beverages.

We did not eat dinner here, but the place was absolutely packed! Very friendly staff and the bartender was excellent. We went there for happy hour and sampled a variety of mojitos! One even had strawberries and balsamic vinegar and was excellent!

Great music, great drinks, attentive staff -- can't ask for a better place to go for drinks in Old Montreal! We were a group of 5 people on a Saturday night. Place was full, but still very comfortable vibe. Would definitely recommend.

I had to send my steak back 3 times to get it medium! The first time it came out it was bloody, then it came back rare;, then rare again. Other people at my table had the same problem and yet there were others that did not get their food at all! The waiters were making comments that the kitchen... More

Complete disappointment. Our group waited over 1h for appetizers and another hour for main course. >5 dishes were returned to kitchhen to be cooked again. Steaks were practically still alive and mooing! Sevice in general really bad. After everyonr had finished we were still waiting for 2 dishes. We do not recommend it.

I have never been so compelled to write a review. The service at L'Assommoir was utterly despicable. I won't go into details but various issues combined to result in a 7% tip from our table. This was apparently unacceptable to the wait staff and, as it turned out, the bar staff. Having paid, our waiter returned to the table to... More

My wife and I slipped away to Montreal area for a few nights, the concierge had recommended L'Assommoir and said it would be a great spot to stop in before heading off for dinner. We sat at the bar and excellent service from our very friendly bartender (I only wish I could remember her name.) The whole staff seemed on... More

We stopped by with about ten folks after a short call ahead from our hotel. The restaurant/bar is a little noisy, but certainly not the worst I've experienced. The food was fantastic if you were willing to be a bit adventurous. A few folks got burger sliders which were pretty mediocre. The beef cheek poutine was excellent, rich and filling.... More

I have been to this restaurant twice and the second time around was much better. The drinks were very good and I preferred the waiter . The tapas are good but some of them are a better value for your money, so don’t be afraid to ask the waiter about the size. Some portions are perfect for sharing while others... More

Nice place to drink with friends before doing the dance thing in the Old Port. You can have a good meal or just a starter, and some funky drinks!
