Francesco is such a welcoming and fun Italian manager. The food is amazing and the service perfect. Our best off : beetroots salad with cheese, polpo salad, risotto porcini, papardelle with wild mushrooms, cappello angele with tomatoes and olive oil and the chocolate soufflé. Very good location in the old montreal neighbourhood and contrasting with the numerous touristic restaurants around.

It takes quite a special meal for me to rate a restaurant as being 5 stars. If I had closed my eyes and just based on flavor profile alone, I could have been in one of my favorite haunts in Milan or Rome. Quattro makes a chili oil/sauce that combines that rare marriage of heat and flavor. I would return... More

During our recent 7-day stay in Montreal, we ended up eating at Quattro 3 times! The location is very convenient in old Montreal, right off the Notre Dame Basilica Square. Thanks to the reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to give Quattro a try. There are several great things about Quattro - the owner Frank (Francesco), who gives all his guests... More

Went to this restaurant based on other reviews. The number of locals in and out validated our choice too. So glad we went there. True neighbourhood Montreal feel. Great food, good wine selection. Merci Quattro

Excellent food and service! This place would make it in NYC. Stuffed zucchini as an appetizer is a must! Quality food!

our dinner was excellent. The waiter started by introducing his Italian heritage and he was very good at recommending. Ambiance is nice, a bit more upscale than a lot of restaurants in Los Montreal. We had gnocchi, risotto with mushrooms and a pasta with seafood. Our son also had the soup. Everything was excellent quality. And again service and ambiance... More

I am not sure what all the fuss is about. I had the calamari appetizer, which was a bit tough. For a main, I had the rabbit. Not much flavor, and the meat was kind of dry. Although there were four pieces of meat, they seemed to be mostly bone, so there was not a lot of meat. Considering the... More

We went into Quattro for a drink; it was our first day in Montreal and were exhausted. Ended up staying for an incredible light meal of calamari (the best we've ever had!) and superb fish of the day - salmon. The staff were attentive, friendly and the lovely and quiet atmosphere was very relaxing. Highly recommend it!!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
