We reserved a few days in advance. The restaurant called to remind us of our reservation and that they are a BYOB restaurant (no corkage). Walked in a little early for our reservation. Seated quickly with great hospitality. The restaurants is quite crowded with some of the tables being fairly close. The menu is on a chalkboard and the waiter... More

Perhaps we came on an off night but the fish from quartier general was very average. There are much better restaurants, especially BYOB in the city. Not impressed.

Went for lunch with friends. Popular neighbourhood bistro located in Le Plateau, so be sure to make a reservation. Food was good and the lunch menu offers good value.

I hate eating at 9 pm, but the reputation of this place made me compromise. I sort of wish I hadn't. It was gone midnight by the time I left, and this is only really acceptable in Spain. The atmosphere and service is totally fine, and it's a nice looking little neighbourhood bistro. But the food is just not worth... More

The restaurant is among the best in Montreal. Maybe not so famous, and surely not as pricey. The food is great and very creative. The appetizers, the entree and the desert are all excelent. And you can also bring your own wine.

The restaurant is ok, sure thing. But not as great has people say. The menu is boring, and uneven. But, I have seen way worst. It was our second visit, and both time I felt the same. Service is ok, but the waiter we had acted like a slacker. Thank god for the other waitress who took over. One good... More

What I thought it would be: a nice little BYOB with great food What I got: a nice little BYOB with a lack of taste in the food We went to Quartier Général an evening with a couple of friends. The restaurant rapidly got packed after our arrival and I have heard it's pretty much always full. The place looks... More

Celebrated my birthday here with my girlfriend and I must say I was impressed. The service was decent, the ambiance was cozy and the food was perfect. Definitely will go again. Do get a reservation because it is quite small. The table d'hôte was around 50$ and included 4 services (including desert), which isn't too expensive. It's BYOB so what... More

If you want to have a chance at a table, you need to make a reservation because this little gem is well known and for a good reason: everything is great. The service is polite and well done, the menu is always good and interesting, and you can bring your own wine. Please indulge yourself to a good bottle, it... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
