Great restaurant!

Great food. Took the table d'hote and loved it! The pork cheek, the cod and the gazpacho were great! Service was knowledgeable and helpful. Bring your own wine restaurant. A little noisy for romantic purposes. Highly recommended!

I ate here on a Sunday evening at the 9:30 seating. Having read the reviews I and my 3 companions were anticipating a delightful experience and we were not disappointed. We all had the 4 course meals for $14 more than the cost of the entree. We all ordered different appetizers, main courses and desserts and then split them 4... More

5 of us went to the last sitting on a Tuesday night. Busy restaurants assure fresh ingredients. We all had something different, and everybody was happy with their choice. I had the pork, which was perfectly presented and tasty. The service was friendly despite our slow decisions and lack of French. I would recommend it for friends and family.

Montreal is one of the great cities of North America, and Quartier General is probably its best deal as a restaurant. We have gone often and I think it worth spending the $40 on the prix fix menu—it is not a separate list, as you get to choose whatever is on the menu, and every course is delicious. Since the... This really felt like a local place located in a residential neighborhood and that's what we wanted. It was a good sign that it was fully packed at 9 PM on this Friday night. We were the only people from the US in the place and our server was patient in explaining the menu. It's a great deal that for... More

Very nice place on the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montréal. The food was great, we were on the first service from 18 to 21h on Thursday night. The restaurant is quite popular and was completly full. The noise level was quite high and the table are quite close so don't go there if you want privacy. The food was very good... More

Had lunch here three times with my wife, and have never been decieved. The service was prompt, and the food was excellent. Although noisy and cramped, I would go back because of the value.

This charming little place run by a professional yet caring staff created the MOST perfect evening for my husband and myself. THANK YOU! This is a BYO restaurant but don't be fooled. You may supply wine but from the moment we walked through the doors, we were made welcome and the happiness of the staff and the patrons surrounding us... More

I rarely will choose lamb in a restauant fearing the quality of the meat as well as the ability to cook it properly! But bingo!! I chose lamb and the cooked it medium rare and it was to perfection!!, bravo this is an excellent French restaurant with very good service and quite a delicious and unusual variety of food on... We reserved a few days in advance. The restaurant called to remind us of our reservation and that they are a BYOB restaurant (no corkage). Walked in a little early for our reservation. Seated quickly with great hospitality. The restaurants is quite crowded with some of the tables being fairly close. The menu is on a chalkboard and the waiter... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
