Great place!

This is a fine restaurant where you get a beautiful decor, a great ambiance, good food AND a GREAT service. The staff is efficient and smiling! A member of the staff called us at home to give us directions for a free parking in the area. Wow!!!

I am a big fan of flank steak and I order it often. This one was the best one I've ever had. I had a taste of the ribs and they are amazing as well. Our waiter was extremely kind and went out of his way to make our evening special.

Long waiting line to get to the restaurant. We had to pass through the kitchen to get to our table in an adjacent and too bright room. Candles and balloons were definitely not creating a romantic ambiance! Servers were running without giving any real sevice (if you dont have time to pour water, please give us a pitcher!) Wouldn't it... More

Montreal, in January, is not always an easy place to find restaurants open early weekday evenings. I had planned to go to another restaurant but it was closed so I decided to give Chérie a call. They told me they were open but might close early given there were no clients. So, I headed over with a friend. The restaurant... More

Went to Chez ma Grosse Truie Cherie during the Montreal a Table! Event, an annual event geared toward offering low-cost, high quality tasting menus - and glad we did! The restaurant is located within walking distance of the Papineau Subway station. As we approached we saw the giant pig statue emerging from the roof and knew we were in for... More

If you like pork and different parts of pork, this restaurant is for you. My husband and I were there on two different occasions, in August and September, with two separate groups of friends. Everyone liked their food, from duck foie gras to boudin noir to pork ribs to the French Fries. Unfortunately, none of us could say the food... More

Good: * The decor is original * The service is fast * They have a large wine selection Not so good: * The restaurant doesn't have small tables, only big communal tables. * Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, we were seated at the bar. * I had the ribs (half plate for 26$). It's way over-priced for the... More

Was basically ignored for 15 minutes before I was presented with the menu. The waiter seem to be more concerned with the hostess then any of the tables in the section. The food was just ok. Went for the Montreal tbl promo. Still came out to 60 bucks which wouldn't have been bad if it was decent . Wouldn't return

We were a table of ten, of which four were children. The restaurant was very accommodating when it came to the children, we were not forced to order a meal for them, rather everyone took something from their plate and the kids had a veritable buffet! As an opener, I had La soupe de la Truie, a beer, caramelized onion,... More

We were 20 people for my friend's birthday and we had 2 young babies with us and the service was just amazing! The staff was making sure that everyone has everything and make us really comfortable. The food was good but not wow. The menu is really original and the portion are huge but few mistakes in our plates but... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
