More than a restaurant, we're an institution. Quality cuts, cooked to perfection for over three decades. All our beef is AAA Canadian Certified and aged for at least 30 days. You'll love the classic atmosphere, warm and welcoming. We're situated directly on St. Paul Street in a beautiful, century-old structure. Inside, you're greeted by old stone walls, wood floors, cozy fireplaces and an attentive staff. With a capacity of up to 1 000 and one of the nicest terraces in Old Montreal, we're the ideal venue for groups, weddings and other social gatherings.

Pleasant Dining in the Old Port

I came here for dinner with some friends and we were pleasantly surprised with what we got. There were four of us so we sat outside and the atmosphere was just right for a great meal. The dining staff was attentive and very helpful, even though we didn't speak a lick of French. It's a great venue... read more

We've had the pleasure of dining here three times now, on different visits to Montreal over a three year period and this restaurant has become our go-to place for wonderful food and great, friendly and attentive service. The location is perfect in Old Montreal and a nice way to finish a long day of walking and shopping. They have an... More

Poutine is a traditional Canadian dish I had never tried before. It consists of french fries, a sliced protein, at Vieux-Port they make it with sliced beef, cheese curds the whole covered with gravy. This was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I ordered the appetizer portion for lunch and had I more time I might have... More

Here as part of a Trafalgar tour, so food choices were narrowed down by our tour guide... but we did get to choose once on-site. Service was good, portions were on the smaller side but considering the amount of food I'd eaten on this tour so far, (and that this was an included dinner as part of the tour) I... More

We sat outside on a nice summer night and had a very nice meal. The Alberta rib eye was a bit too marbled for my taste but had good flavor. The staff was very nice and bilingual. The inside portion of the restaurant was a cool rustic modern decor and very unique. Not too many choices for low to mid... More

We visited this restaurant. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the area of Old Montreal. Also, we ordered the seafood platter as a start between the two of us and it was amazing. A lot of food before dinner but delicious nonetheless. Even though it is a steakhouse they do seafood really well as well.

We ate here during our FIFA Women's World Cup trip after attending Sunday Mass at Notre Dame Basilica. The food was amazing, and the ambiance was even better. My daughter (a relatively picky eater) went back for thirds! Plenty of choices - fresh fruit, vegetables and salads, pasta, fish, beef, omelettes made to order, roast beef and turkey carving station,... More

The restaurant is very nice, and is located In "Old Montreal". You can eat inside, or outside. The food is excellent, and service is very good as well. The only inconvenience might be that the restrooms are located upstairs, but it is a small price to pay for what you get!

We were a large group and dinner was pre-paid. Many times this means mediocre food, often poor service, no atmosphere but this was a different experience. One of the diners at our table had an unusual allergy and our waitress, Miriam, went out of her way to accommodate her. The steak was cooked to perfection. The decor- lovely! I will definitely... Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
