Nice atmosphere

Right in the Vieux Port, this steakhouse was easy to find. Housed in an old, old building, it is beautiful. The rooms are broken up so that while it's a large place, you feel as if it's more intimate. The service was very good. The filet mignon medallions a little rarer than my medium rare but... read more

We chose Vieux-Port on a whim and were not disappointed! The service was fantastic! Our server Anna offered suggestions regarding the food and wine pairings. Our food was quick and hot when delivered. I had the Santa Fe Chicken while my companions had steak or soup. Everyone raved about their meals and were very full. I would eat there again... More

We visited this restaurant on the last night of our two week Canadian road trip. We couldn't have chosen a better send off. The restaurant is huge, but wasn't too busy on the Tuesday evening that we visited. Our waiter was called Alan. What a fantastic, attentive server he was. He explained all the different cuts of meat to help... More

Great atmosphere and great food for brunch. We have been just one time for supper and that was also a good couple experience. The brunch we have been to many times either with a few couples or just family. We have been to many restaurants for brunches but this one is by far the best.

Moonshine our server was attentive and really tried to understand our needs. I remember the Manager from a previous business trip and he was kind enough to come over and welcome us. The steak was great, service was excellent. Overall good value for your money. I will also return for sure!

Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Large menu including steaks and seafood. Our priciest meal during vacation, but felt it was worth the money. Indoor and outdoor (sheltered patio--enter from the side street) seating.

Our family of 5 arrived at the restaurant after a very long day in the car driving from Pennsylvania. It was an incredibly busy Saturday night, and the place was bustling. As we made our way through the crowd to the host stand, I was relieved to have made a reservation since it was crowded, and almost every table appeared... More

My husband and I had dinner here while visiting Montreal. My husband had filet medallions wrapped in bacon and I had filet. Both were perfectly cooked and tender. Our service was professional. This was a great dinner and a relaxing dinner.

Was here for a work dinner with about 20 other colleagues. Was a set menu but all aspects of the meal were presented well and all of us were served at the same time. This I believe can be particularly hard while serving steak all cooked to order differently. Located in a great part of Old Montreal, they also make... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
