Awesome place, really awesome. The joint is in a super trendy neighborhood, the terrace is the summer is killer, the decor inside is warm and inviting and very typical English. They have a wide assortment of liquors, all prices and quality. The have some really very delicious cocktail concoctions and great beer selection, really a beer lovers heaven! The cocktails... More

This a great spot for food at anytime but I especially like Sunday brunch there. The food is great, not your usual egg joint, the service is fast and friendly especially given how busy it is, the atmosphere is loud and fun, it's very reasonably priced, and the football is always on, so what more could you ask for except... Been going to Burgundy Lion for a couple of years and can't help but notice that the quality of the service there is worsening each year. We had to wait an hour for our table when the waiter told us it would be a 10 minutes wait. Had I known that I would've went somewhere else. It's not the wait... More

OK - so I know this is a pub, but the Burgundy Lion is so loud that it is impossible to carry on a conversation, (when it's busy, which seems like always), However, the food is excellent, so it is worth going for a meal if you can stand the noise.

It is always a fun at Burgundy Lion - this is a typical traditional English bar with big selection of beers and English-style foods including infamous fish and chips, which they make simply great... LUV this place and go there every time we want to go out without any particular goal.

Saturday evening (maybe, I should have known better), we went in for a quick bite. There was a table for us, We were seated and the waitress walked by and we waited ...and we waited (while this was happening the waitress was walking by and I was making eyes contact with her but she had no interest in our 2... As a british family living in Montreal we were hankering after a traditional pub and this was the closest thing to it. The pub itself is fine - more of a restaurant than a real pub and whilst the food was good...the beer somewhat disappointing. Very few good draft bitters on tap...Bass, Newcastle Brown and Murphys...but that's about it. Would... More

Have been here for drinks with friends and the place is fun, live music and great ambiance. Went here last weekend for brunch and I did not like it as much as for drinks. The food is really great and the home made jam is too die for, but it's too loud for the morning.

We went to the Burgundy Lion to have breakfast (birthday celebration). It was very different from your typical breakfast. With the exception of the fried bread (too oily) everything I have tried was different and delicious (the bacon and crumpet were delightful). Great mimosas as well. The breakfast was also very affordable. I can't wait to go back.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighborhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialized Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
