I've always liked the Griffintown Café, but the new mural (ugly and uninspiring) facing, yep, a TV screen, squeezes the customers like a vice and ruins the atmosphere. Plus, wait-staff spend their time gawping at the screen and fiddling with the adjustments. The atmosphere is ruined. The fun is gone, except, maybe, on jazz nights. Let's hope the idiot-tube is... We just went to Griffintown on our last night in Montreal & we had a fantastic time! This is just a comfortable, low key, ZERO pretension spot with really really good food, great service...it's just plain FUN. We both had a cocktail to start (i had a cosmo & my hubs had an old fashioned) and they were beautifully made.... More

We only went here because it was within walking distance of our condo and was listed as a good place for happy hour. They don't have happy hour. At all! So we pondered the menu, but really didn't see anything that appealed to us so we just had a cocktail. No complaints there and our server was very friendly and... More

The food was fine, but the cocktails were excellent and the atmosphere was good. Overall nothing to write home about, but decent. Nice live music when we were there. Professional service.

Great casual bistro ambiance, with a live jazz singer. Nice industrial loft decor with high ceilings and genuine brick walls. We had a great and friendly service. Prices are reasonable. They offer awesome unusual cocktails. Food we had was really fresh and very good. My magret (duck breast) salad was simply delicious! We will come back again for sure…

I just went back to the Griffintown Café (now just called the Griffintown?) after Notre Dame Street finally got rid of its construction. I went there for brunch on a Sunday and expected a line up. It was half empty. Not a good sign I said to myself - as this used to be a bustling joint in Griffintown. First... More

Just terrible service. It took them an hour to make our lunch, which was not fantastic. There was awful drillig noise from outside and yet they had the door open.

We've been here several times for brunch and it's always constant ! for us that's important, you may wait a little but that's part of Sunday brunch... Reasonably priced and nice vibe.

Had brunch here. Had read that Eggs Benedict was 'the best ever'. Was average at best in my opinion...Potatoes were cold/warm, and the salad was like the left-over salad you might have in your fridge from last night's dinner...Service was prompt and friendly though. Many other options in Montreal. Will likely not return.

We’ve loved Café Griffintown for several years now. Their jazz or blues nights are a must,…and there is always a warm atmosphere. It’s a great place for a Friday night dinner, or to grab brunch on the weekend. The food is always as great as the décor and ambiance. In December 2013, I chose the Griffintown to organize a surprise... More
