Ok !! Some people like to have a beautiful restaurant. Personally, I prefer to have a beautiful diner. When you open a restaurant with a limited budget, it is better to give the most in your cooking than in the room. And here we are. The food is incredible. Creation, flavor, imagination. What you eat is just perfect. And I... More

Went with my husband last night and was completely delighted by our dinner! We took the five course meal, and from starters to deserts, every single dish Was just perfection! The lady who served us, charming. We got to taste several sakés before making our final choice, too. The restaurant is tiny and the chef cooks right in the same... More

Food was superb and I agree with everything written about it in all the other glowing reviews. The experience was not great. First of all it is way too cramped and the decor needs seriously to be improved. The centipede doing the butterfly in the water glass got the evening off to a bad start. We didn't make a fuss... It has been over 2 years since my last glowing review of Toroli, and our Saturday dinner there confirmed it as one of my top recommendations for Montreal residents and visitors alike. Chef Takashi Sakurai’s Japanese-French fusion dishes still astonish and delight, and the interior has been made less Spartan than it used to be, thanks to more subdued lighting,... More

This place is unbelievable. It is a tiny restaurant on the plateau, it can seat maximum 12 people I would say. The kitchen is open and is tiny and there is one chef only, no sous-chef plus his wife taking care of the service. What Takashi Sakurai serves only can be labelled with one word: perfect. Suberb taste, interesting combinations... More

This was my second time visiting Montreal and the first place we ate at was Toroli. My wife and I love this place. I don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about regarding the service, but it's great. Food is spectacular. Well presented. We had the 6 and 5 course meals. Enjoyed every part of it. Will continue to... More

Toroli is a very small place that looks weird from the outside and not particularly good inside. But it's what you'll find on the plates that matters! Wow! Very beautiful presentations. Great flavors, mixing japanese, french and italian influences. We had the small tasting menu. It was a lot. The portions were surprisingly big. And everything was delicious. We had a... More

Toroli is a tiny gem of a restaurant in the plateau area of Montreal. The restaurant sits on a tiny side street 1 block in from Avenue du Mont-Royal E, and the façade is whimsically painted like the black and white spots of a Jersey cow. The interior is a single small room that seats only about 12-16 people. The... More

A small and quaint place, where the chef receives you almost in his home. The food is interesting and has an authentic Japanese influence. My husband and I loved it all 3 x we went!

I should say that most of the food had good flavors. The reason I am rating it very low is for: Service is terrible. First it's not where you can expect service. It's a tiny store with 3 to 4 tables and 1 waiter who is slow. The menu is thus very small. You either take what's there or that's... More
