A few friends and myself had lunch here recently because it was close to the Fine Arts Museum, it was chilly and we didn't want to walk very far, and with our museum membership, we got a 15% discount on the bill. Two of us ordered the cod fillet with steamed vegetables, and I had a large steak with fries.... More

If you want to get your money's worth, this is the place. As long as you bring your own bottle of wine, you can go all out for for under $100 (2 people). The atmosphere is great and feels upscale. The restaurant is in a great location on Crescent St. near several other clubs and bars. All of the servers... More

This restaurant, which we have visited many times, has a great downtown location. We like the friendly, hard-working staff and mix of young & old, multilingual patrons. We can bring our own wine, and get a discount for being museum members. But last night I had seafood linguini with a very bland sauce. My husband's stuffed chicken breast had hardly... More

I had the pleasure of dining at L'Academie September 26, 2014 at the recommendation of a friend that was traveling to Montreal with us. She shared that this was her favorite restaurant in Montreal, so the group of 5 agreed to try it out! The spot was located in the busy crescent street, which was great as we liked the... More

This is not a restaurant intended to leave your pockets empty, but certainly has good food/service -plus a great downtown location. House specialties include mussel & pasta dishes with economy pricing for daily lunches plus Sunday thru Wednesday evenings. There are other more expensive items on the menu, but at least you have a variety of choice. There was lovely... More

Our group had a dinner at this place earlier this month. The food was OK but not memorable in the least, the service professional, . They did not serve wine (why not known) so one of our number went off to a depanneur to get a few (execrable) bottles. Not a place I'd rush back to.

The best mussels I have ever had! We were shopping on Rue Sherbrooke and discovered this restaurant by accident. What a find! Lunch portions are very generous and very, very reasonably priced. Mussels are prepared many different ways. I had the Mariniere preparation and highly recommend them. Be sure to make this restaurant a destination when next in Montreal.

We were four McGill students from the 60's meeting again in Montreal, long before BYO was invented, & a good wheeze too. In spite of the fact we would have been a good deal more comfortable in one of the double banquettes which remained unoccupied bearing Reserved notices throughout our visit ( why ? ) we nevertheless enjoyed the relaxed... We had been at one of their locations years ago. I was interested to see how much they had grown. We went for lunch, but found the lunch to be average. I tried the gourmet poutine. It was Filet Mignon in the cheese curd and gravy. It was ok. Maybe I expected too much from poutine. My wife had the... More

The restaurant is very easy to get to by bus and it is very close to the Museum of Arts. They have an outside terrace which is non smoking! A plus to prevent the atmosphere from being ruined. We had the Risotto set meal, Poutine with Steak strips and a wonderful Beef Bavette. We were so stuffed that we did't... More
