Breakfast food was good, but a very pricey

We usually go to Universal for breakfast when in Montreal, but when we were in Montreal last weekend for 2 nights, decided to try somewhere new on the 2nd day. Breakfast menu is somewhat limited: omelettes with set ingredients, eggs or crepes. Bacon or sausage costs extra ($1.99 for bacon, $2.99... read more

My family and I (children 3 and 6) were celebrating our 3 year old's birthday in Montreal, and were hard-pressed to find a kid-friendly restaurant near our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn). Parents, you know the feeling when your family is hungry and you're trying to find a kid-friendly restaurant? Well, Bistro Cafe & Cucina was a perfect find! The staff... More

This Gelato was as not fresh and not a smooth texture, a bit chunky. I had the vanilla and it was just not good at all.

The food portions were huge, we shared all of our food. Even the salad was good. The lady and her daughter were so nice and sweet. We even called from our hotel to tell them how good our food was.

I was looking for a restaurant close to my hotel and the reviews seemed ok. But I didn't enjoy the lasagna I ordered. it was diferent. The pasta fagioli soup was ok and simple. I wouldn't recommend, I would look for a restaurant with better reviews.

This may not be an eclectic or trendy place but what it does guarantee is good, hearty food for both large and petite appetites, served with a smile. Located on a busy intersection with lots of foot traffic, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You can have something as simple as gelato or crepes, or an extensive full... More

This restaurant is next to the hotel where I was staying. Even though the Yelp reviews were mostly unfavorable, I went against my fellow yelpers and ordered what I thought would be a safe/no brainer dish - Veggie Spaghetti. Dang..... I don't know what the heck went wrong but it had a horrible "off" taste and I couldn't eat it.... More

I've had my fair share of cheesecakes. Some bought and some home baked. Usually bought ones are disappointing. I have a culinary degree with some pastry & baking experience/training and I find bought can be bland, over baked, or even too rich at times. Let me say that Bistro Cafe & Cucina's Carrot Cake Praline Cheesecake is to die for!... More

We happend to stop in this cute, family run restaurant for lunch on our 2nd day in Montreal. The owners actually work at this restaurant, and they are so friendly!!! We knew by the end of our first meal that we would be back again and again before leaving for home. The food is delicious. Between my mom and I,... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
