Yummy french onion soup

We came here for lunch and had the half sandwich and soup combo. Soup was excellent, especially on a snowy day!

Best crepes we have eaten! Had savory crepes for dinner and then split an order of Crepes Suzette for dessert -- delicious. My husband also enjoyed the French Onion Soup. Our server was friendly and attentive and spoke fluent French and English.

Had a bowl (literally) of Cappuccino for brunch, also referred to as large. Was excellent. Had the savory Western vegetarian crepe and was amazing. Their sweet crepes look delicious also but those will have to wait for another visit.

Excellent little place, popular with locals and tourists alike. Great staff, Englais welcome, authentic crepes and Fondue, Small wine list that is affordable. Great on a cold winter's day!

We went into Creperie Chez Suzette for a coffee and snack. But ended up ordering Sangria and soup instead. We should have saved room for the crepes because they looked amazing and the couples around us raved about them. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and fun. Can't wait for a return trip to Montreal and this time, we... More

This charming creperie had a great lunch special including soup or salad, sandwich or crepe, and dessert. All was delicious, but especially the dessert crepe with ice cream and chocolate sauce! We came back for dinner, too!

We were looking for a nice spot for lunch with the kids that would give us some local flavor. We had the French onion soup, cheese fondu and a crepe. Everything was delicious, the service was very good and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The coffee was excellent-and big! Our bowls of coffee were larger than my bowl... More

Visiting Montreal for our kid's hockey tournament, we ventured out hoping to try out some local food while we were checking out the city. We stumbled into Chez Suzette and for a person who'd never had fondue in my life, we had the best time. Half the family had crepes, and I tried the beef and chicken fondue. Our server,... More

We popped in for lunch. Great bowl (yes not cup). French onion soup was divine. Crepes were nice. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Large inside.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
