Excellent breakfast/brunch spot.

The food was excellent! I had the chicken and the egg as a healthy breakfast. The drink selections for brunch can't be beat. The restaurant staff is friendly and provides excellent service. You are allowed to take your time eating and enjoying the friendly ambiance.

We enjoyed this great gay bar in the center of the Village, we came back a second time in the same weekend. Even during the uber busy Pride weekend, the bi-lingual staff remained calm and professional. Wait times for tables were reasonable with the friendly waiters making sure you were well looked after. Outdoor tables afford the best people watching.... More

My wife and I recently had dinner there with a friend. The ambiance is great...the DJ plays great tunes. The music is not too loud so it's easy to have a conversation without screaming. The service is excellent. Food is great, we especially love the grilled cheese and the cowboy burger. When it comes to cocktails....well...the list is long...and everything... More

Stopped in for a Bloody Caesar, the Canadian version of a Bloody Mary. Le Saloon made most of the "Best of" lists in Montreal when it came to Bloody Caesars, so we were hoping for for something to make us say "Wow!". "Wow!" What a delicious drink! Cold and refreshing, savory and spicy, served in a pint mug. A boldly... More

It was an amazing "Sunday brunch" The Crepes de Fruit were delightful. And it was a thrill to be in an a restaurant where people actually TALKED to each other and not to their cells

We went here for breakfast with a large group. The service was great and the food was delicious. The place was a bit crowded and appeared to be one of the most popular breakfast venues in the Gay Village for both tourists and locals.

Stopped in with friends as the menu seemed neat, it looked busy and the terasse looked nice. Best thing about this place was the service. Exceptional. Nice and efficient. Food is good. Standard québécois choices. Excellent drink menu. Relaxed for two hours with great atmosphere inside and out. Waiter brought all five of us a complimentary drink before leaving just... More

We had been having some "unhappy" meals in Montreal but Le Saloon was recommended by Tracy Trash at Caberet Mado so we decided to give it a whirl. Oh my, the wait staff were awesome, Martin was the best! The food was great and we had the best poutine in Montreal. It was made with sweet potatoe fries, cheese curds... More

I regularly visit Montreal for both business and pleasure and usually have at least one meal at Saloon each trip, Virtually everything is good. My last meal I had the Saloon Pizza. It was superb, especially alongside my favourite cocktail, Saloon Cesar. Service is always efficient and friendly.

We stopped in for dinner just on the basis of the nice looking patio and were really impressed. The food was excellent, the tartare was absolutely delicious, and the mango salad also quite good. The cocktail I had, a bloody martini, was very good, and they had an impressive cocktail list. There is an English menu, and the staff are... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
