I went on a Sunday at 1 pm for brunch with a group of friends. Because of the size of our party we had to sit inside, which was ok, but if you can try and sit outside - weather permitting. The service was very good and I can't say anything bad about our server. Likewise the food was very... More

Great location, a little loud but we enjoyed being out on the patio and watching the world walk by. The pitcher of white wine sangria was perfectly light and refreshing for a hot summer night. We ordered two wraps (Chicken Fajita and Asian Beef) which were really quite good. Service was lousy though. More than the usual Montreal rolling-of-eyes snark... More

Great atmosphere, very good food. Very good service. Hip young date place. While we were neither, had a very enjoyable meal. Was recommended by boutique we shopped earlier that day in the village. Greatly exceeded expectations. Would recommend

The menu here is quite extensive----pasta, Mexican, fish, beef, Chinese----it is all quite eclectic. My frustration was in ordering that the menu prices didn't match the bill that was presented. They always should, whether it's food or liquor. The service was attentive, but conversations can be a bit difficult because of loud music and over-stimulating visuals that surround the area.... the local is nice a bit too dark i think, food was good, expensive compered to the uk similar places around the world people know that this part of canada is not the most friendliest place and people full of attitude. that was the case with the waitress. no wine, drink list given, had to wait long before the staff... Friends invited us to join them at this bistro in the gay village. I wondered if it would be very camp but there was a good mix of people. We were seated upstairs and enjoyed a five course meal. The first two courses were very enjoyable, fig and crispy bacon, goats cheese, etc. The main course i choose was a... More

A few friends and us (my wife and I) attended their New Year's Gala, from 9:00 p.m. until around 12:30. The 5 course meal was acceptable but overly salted. The desert was pure sugar and all of us left it there! The ambiance was good. However, the owner hired a so-called ''DJ'' for the evening and he basically broke everyones's... More

We ate here our first night of our trip and we were looking for a good meal and boy did we find one. It was busy and even on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend we got a table next to the window. We with a martini each, nothing special in them Im sad to say, both were on... More

Although far from fancy and smack dab in the middle of the gay village, Saloon remains one of our favourite reliable old haunts in Montreal. The atmosphere is always fun, the clientele interesting and the food excellent basic food. The serve an amazing brunch, particularly on their patio in the summer and despite a very extensive menu somewhat lacking focus,... More
