We went to Gerry's anxious to try the smoked meat. We were 2nd in line, waiting about 10 minutes another couple walk in and wait behind us. Waitress directs 1st couple to seats and then skips over us to say to couple " come with me I have the perfect table for you"...surprised we told her we were there first.... More

I visited Gerry's with clients for lunch in March 2015. The establishment was clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, which is sometimes difficult to find in Montreal with an English only speaking group. Drinks and food orders were prompt and the smoked meat sandwiches were delicious. The menu had a very good selection, with everything from breakfast,... More

I have made two visits to Gerry's in the past week or so. The first was as the guest of a local work colleague-business was brisk at lunchtime. The second was for a quiet evening meal. The menu is made up of the regional staples-smoked meat, sandwiches, salads, poutine. My lunch was a generous heap of smoked meat between two... More

This is your typical deli -- in both the best and worst of that word. I really enjoyed my "cooked meat" sandwich -- it was corned beef. It was very fatty, which I actually liked, but if you are used to corned beef in the states you might think it's too fatty. The steak my wife had was ok. Net-net,... More

This place is out favorite for Montreal Smoked meat, it's not in the best area of town but it's worth the detour for the juicy tasty meat they offer. Prices are reasonable too and usually service is pretty good. The restaurant is nice but not retro or anything special. It's on a street corner and parking is in the street,... More

Went there late at night, Ice cold beer, great club sandwich, GREAT poutine and great sub. Service was excellent. A little on the expensive side... 2 beers, a club sandwich with a poutine instead of fries and a 10 inch sub....50$ ... but it was good. Probably wont go back because of the $$

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
