We ate here in Sept 2014 whilst staying in Montreal, we had a long wait for a table so sat and had a drink while waiting, we were seated at a nice table and ordered our steaks for mains, we had veg and mash as accompaniments and all were cooked perfectly, the steaks were tender and just as ordered, we... I had been recommended to visit The Keg by a colleague from Australia and some locals too. The Keg is a downtown bar / restaurant that prides itself on its steaks. They had a decent selection on offer, and I chose the 8oz Filet Mignon and Half Lobster from their seasonal Lobster menu. (If you're thinking about it in 2015,... More

oops, just noticed the address of this "Keg"... we ate at the keg in OLD Montreal... same owners, so I am sure the food is just as good. At the keg in OLD Montreal- the service was good, wait staff very friendly and prompt; food delicious.

A friend told me about this restaurant. It is in the downtown Montreal and I was really surprised to find a parking lot for my car. I don't know if the restaurant pretends to be fancy. It didn't looked so to me. The tables are very small and if you're tall like me, you'll find yourself uncomfortable sitting at the... More

Great steaks. We particularly like the blue cheese filet mignon! Service inconsistent, though. And the dessert menu should be much more appealing! Their mojitos are often too sour! Ok for their Mai Tai.

Overpriced and unhelpful waiter. I cannot eat onions and everything I asked about had onions. No offer to leave them out until I pressed the issue and said we would go elsewhere. Food was okay but there are much better restaurants that aren't so full of themselves.

We were there for a nice night out. Our server was very nice. However, a different server brought us our food and that server accidentally dropped my boyfriend's meal on his lap. It was clearly an accident and she genuinely felt horrible. We were very understanding as we felt bad for her. I had to eat alone so that my... More

The food was good but we were disappointed with the service and when we added the crab legs to our entree it was explained there were three crab legs when actually there were 3 pieces of one leg. Upon leaving the hostesses were in the bar chatting instead of at the hostess desk saying goodbye and thank you.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
