Le Paltoquet has been around for a while on Ave. Van Horne in Montreal, and for good reason! When you walk inside, you immediately feel like you're walking in to a typical French patisserie, but I must say their croissants here are even better than those I've had in Paris! Small, buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Try them with their... More

I thought I would treat myself to a croque monsieur on a cold day in Montreal. After waiting 30 minutes after 2 bites I noted it was not even hot but frozen right through. The lady at the next table had ordered a crepe without ham and guess what her crepe had ham! I told the server my food was... More

Heard about this bakery so decided to check it out with the kids. After careful thought there is nothing we bought that we would go back for compared to the numerous bakeries in Montreal. The croissants, chocolatines, palmiers, brioches and almond croissant are average at best, in fact somewhat dry and tasteless. The apple turnovers were on the burnt side.... More

A friend recommended this and just went in and bought a chocolatin ( chocolate filled croissant ) to go. It was more than amazing. I cant hardly think of another better than it. We will go back to have a coffee and try the rest of the menu.

You can buy decent croissants in dozens of places in Montreal. Here they are excellent. I have not yet tried their sandwiches, but I'd be surprised if they are as mediocre as another rebiewer claims. Van Horne, though a bit out of the way for visitors, is a very good foodie street. Outremont is the metro station. And Bernard is... More

Being a French, I am a bit particular on croissant and pain au chocolat. But when it comes to the paltoquet, there's no discussion needed : You probably are in one of the best place to have a croissant and a cup of coffee ! I ordered a sandwich and was impressed too. The place is a bit small so... More

This is a review for the pastries and cakes only since the sandwiches are pitiful. The pastries (croissants, etc.) are the best - crispy on the outside, softy and chewy on the inside. My only. Oakland is the price given that they are so tiny and there's no way I cannot stop at just one. The cakes are also pretty... More
