Great food

Spent a long weekend in Montreal and decided to try Vertige for it's reputation. Great food, a little pricey, but that we knew going in. Lovely atmosphere, well decorated and excellent food. Tried the 5 course meal and regret not trying the fois gras. Will try to on my next visit.

We go here from time to time when we can afford it. The food is always good and the ambience is lovely. A true experience of upscale French atmosphere and service without any stuffiness. Make sure to make a reservation. People seem to dress up a bit but it is not required. Lovely fire in the middle of the room... More

We came here four months ago for drinks and an appetizer while we waited for our reservation next door (why even have a reservation when there is such a long wait anyway??) The decor, vibe, service, and drinks were all enough reason to return, but the arancini was to die for. Tonight we returned with our young daughters, loved the... More

We found this place by accident and we're glad we did. The service and the appetizers were excellent ( beef carpaccio and the shrimp ravioli) and the mains (veal sweetbreads and the cod) were cooked flawlessly. The dessert however was a let down (limited selections and not as thoughtfully prepared) and it detracted somewhat from the overall experience. It was... More

My friends and I drove up to Montreal from Burlington, VT to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was my first time to Montreal and I made a reservation at Vertige on Open Table just from the pictures and reviews I saw - and I'm so happy I did. We each ordered 3 courses which were all out of this world... More

The food was very good, service friendly. Small restaurant not a lot of seating, bilingual service. About a 20 mins drive from Hotel Bonaventure.

Travelling through Montreal on our March Break return trip from the East Coast, we were turned away from the more famous restaurant next door. We didn't have to go far and were pleasantly surprised with the exceptional value at Vertige. Our appetizers included the shrimp ravioli and the arancini in truffle butter; mains were the Cod and Beef Short Ribs.... More

Went there the first time with my girlfriend as we like to try new restaurants. The Tapas menu was simply great and price was very reasonnable. I have to say the tapas choices are interresting, portions for each tapas are perfect, gives you just enought to taste. We took the 6 tapas each menu and at the end we were... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
