Best Birthday Dinner, Ever!!

My friends and I drove up to Montreal from Burlington, VT to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was my first time to Montreal and I made a reservation at Vertige on Open Table just from the pictures and reviews I saw - and I'm so happy I did. We each ordered 3 courses which were all out of this... read more

The food was very good, service friendly. Small restaurant not a lot of seating, bilingual service. About a 20 mins drive from Hotel Bonaventure.

Travelling through Montreal on our March Break return trip from the East Coast, we were turned away from the more famous restaurant next door. We didn't have to go far and were pleasantly surprised with the exceptional value at Vertige. Our appetizers included the shrimp ravioli and the arancini in truffle butter; mains were the Cod and Beef Short Ribs.... More

Went there the first time with my girlfriend as we like to try new restaurants. The Tapas menu was simply great and price was very reasonnable. I have to say the tapas choices are interresting, portions for each tapas are perfect, gives you just enought to taste. We took the 6 tapas each menu and at the end we were... More

Took my son here for regular menu, but they were celebrating Switzerland that evening and had a prix-fixe menu. We stayed and enjoyed 4-5 small plates of meatballs, sweetbreads, and cooked cheeses. Service was nice as was the atmosphere.

We were a large group of 11 visiting from across Canada and Vertige accomodated us with nothing but smiles. The atmosphere is warm and charming, the food (we had the table d'hote) was exquisite, the wine list impressed the wine snobs in our group and the prices completely reasonable! For a 4 course meal plus a glass of wine, I... More

A large group of 12 of us visiting from Toronto were looking for a place to have celebration that would accommodate foodies, vegetarians, multiple nut allergies, and wine snobs. This place did not disappoint - welcoming + warm service, an excellently curated wine list, and a table d'hote menu with spectacular value made this a dinner to remember. The foie... More

I was flipping through Open Table trying to find a new restaurant for dinner and came across Vertige which I never heard of. Normally I stay away from this area since parking is near impossible especially in the winter. After checking reviews which were very positive and going to their website which mentions a parking lot on the preceding cross... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
