Was down in PEI in July and this restaurant was recommended to us. It was a nice clean Family style restaurant and the owner was walking through talking with guests. The menu had a great selection and the food was very good. The servers were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs.

I think the name of this place is Gentleman Jim's. It located by the mall and we were told by local friends that the food was good. I had a lobster cocktail and seafood chowder which were both excellent. My companions also enjoyed their meals.

On our trip to Summerside, we were disappointed to see many places not open for the season yet, so went to Gentleman Jim's. Very disappointing. The potato skins consisted of twice-baked, dried out potato wedges with cheese and bacon. The fish cakes were more potato then fish, and the haddock fish and chips were very average.

I asked the server if the Clam Chowder was made with 'real' PEI or Atlantic Clams and not 'canned' clams from some East Asian country. He said they were local. WRONG......I could tell by seeing and tasting them. Way tooooooo small for local. Tiny baby clams that you would find from a can of baby clams from 'You Know Where'.... More

We booked well in advance to celebrate a family event, and had about 20 people in our party. Restaurant wasn't my choice. My meal was OK, could've got the same thing at a fast food joint, and none of the other meals I saw looked that good that I thought, "Should have ordered that." One person that had the beef... More

We ate here twice in two days. The restaurant came recommended to us by our B & B hosts. The food was rather average. The food was lukewarm. Certainly nothing outstanding. Probably more disturbing was the lacklustre service. On both nights, the restaurant was almost empty. Our waitress was less than welcoming. We ate there as it was open quite... More

Our meal here was probably the least expensive of any on our recent trip to PEI and Nov Scotia, so in that regard, it was good value. I got the mussels and a salad, and my husband got the chowder and one of the dinner specials. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad, including the service.

We had the seafood casserole special for $14.99, which was very good, & very filling. It came with a tasty clam chowder. The casserole had lots of cheese on shrimp, scallops & haddock. We aren't big eaters, so we were full after this & didn't have dessert. We had a very nice waitress & the service was good. Thank You!

The food was fine, not terrific, but the service was terrible. The waitress was rude and abrupt. There was another waitress however, who was absolutely remarkable. She is, for lack of a better term, a larger lady with very short cropped hair. The rude waitress was a long haired thin blonde, probably in her 40's.

We decided to eat here after reading the reviews. As long as the food is good, we figured we could handle the carpet! I had one of the dinner specials, pan fried haddock with potatoes, fresh veg, and a clam chowder to start for $14.99. My meal was really good and the portions were good too. My husband got surf...
