Our family of 4 stopped here for dinner while walking around downtown Charlottetown. We chose this location as most of the restaurants in the downtown core are either pricy or serve mostly seafood which most of us don't enjoy. We weren't disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and was able to help us decide what to order as everything... More

We went to this pub before the Lennie Gallant show so didn't have a lot of time. Service was excellent, even though we were eating light & sharing a meal & dessert. It was pouring rain by the time we left & the waitress handed me a wad of napkins so we could dry ourselves off once we were at... More

Solid pub food. Mussels were excellent and sandwiches large. We ate out on patio which was pleasant. Great beer selection. Went inside which has true pub atmosphere and listened to some excellent music.

Right downtown and a great place to meet friends for food or drinks. I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The food is good and the drinks are made to order.

We love this place. It's not overpriced like a lot of nearby restaurants. It has a nice patio and the interior is very classy. They have signature drinks and an eclectic menu that won't empty your wallet. The service is very friendly and attentive. It's the only place we eat in Charlottetown when we visit!

We visited St. James in the hopes of having a quick appetizer and some drinks to hold us over until a late dinner reservation. We ordered a Bloody Caesar and a White Russian. Possibly some of the worst mixed drinks we've ever had. Hoping the food situation would be better, we then ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip. Dip itself was... More

Visited this fine restaurant before we went to Anne play and this was the perfect starter to the evening. The menu was extensive and food was served promptly. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious!

My sister and I walked all around the downtown Charlottetown area looking for a restaurant that would cater to both of your unique tastes – she loves sea food, I’m a vegetarian – and all we could find were restaurants that specialized in seafood until we came across St. James Gate Restaurant and Pub. It looked inviting with it’s outdoor... More

The food was great whether it was sandwiches or fish and chips. The chips are home grown and very tasty. Try the local beers. We had a Gahan with our meal and it was tasty. Service was awesome.

Our server was awful. We were looking forward to trying their scallops and bacon. We waited 25 minutes after placing our order. Finally our entrees arrive, but where are the scallops? We were offered the scallops for free , but our entrees were hot and ready. They also were dinner-sized and this was supposed to be lunch. The jambalaya was... More
