My husband and I had dined there with a good friend of ours a couple of years ago and liked the food, so we decided to have dinner there a few nights ago on a recent trip to the island. We had the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer which were very nice, and i had the new york striploin... More

This is one of my favourite restaurants in downtown Charlottetown and I've tried almost all of them. Worth the money (especially wing nights on Thursday).

Good pub food and service was excellent. They only get 4 out of 5 from me for the limited local beer selection. There is a good selection of brews on tap, but I wanted more local (any maritime, not just PEI) and they didn't have much. We also went on a slow night and it didn't feel like much of... More

Last nights dinner at St. James Gate was superb from start to finish, Starting with a seafood chowder that perfect, The muscles were a perfect size and left in the shell in the chowder for presentation and very good. Scallops were plentiful in the chowder, I'm sure they were bay scallops but that is fine in a chowder as you... More

Our family of 4 stopped here for dinner while walking around downtown Charlottetown. We chose this location as most of the restaurants in the downtown core are either pricy or serve mostly seafood which most of us don't enjoy. We weren't disappointed. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and was able to help us decide what to order as everything... More

We went to this pub before the Lennie Gallant show so didn't have a lot of time. Service was excellent, even though we were eating light & sharing a meal & dessert. It was pouring rain by the time we left & the waitress handed me a wad of napkins so we could dry ourselves off once we were at... More

Solid pub food. Mussels were excellent and sandwiches large. We ate out on patio which was pleasant. Great beer selection. Went inside which has true pub atmosphere and listened to some excellent music.

Right downtown and a great place to meet friends for food or drinks. I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The food is good and the drinks are made to order.

We love this place. It's not overpriced like a lot of nearby restaurants. It has a nice patio and the interior is very classy. They have signature drinks and an eclectic menu that won't empty your wallet. The service is very friendly and attentive. It's the only place we eat in Charlottetown when we visit!

We visited St. James in the hopes of having a quick appetizer and some drinks to hold us over until a late dinner reservation. We ordered a Bloody Caesar and a White Russian. Possibly some of the worst mixed drinks we've ever had. Hoping the food situation would be better, we then ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip. Dip itself was... More
