I use to frequent this place quite often, and moved away in 2001. My wife and I just returned, and it was a "must go" to place. WOW! Has it ever changed. We arrived on a Tuesday, at noon. Only one other couple were in the restaurant! It was dirty, and the service was VERY slow. The food was horrible,... More

One of my go to places for drinks and a pulled pork. Pulled pork is one of the best in town, patio is perfect to relax and have a few drinks while watching some volleyball. Service is always good, Perfect little place!!!

Went for lunch last week. We had time before we had to be someplace on the west side, so we stopped in. I had not been there for a couple of years, but nothing changed. The server was attentive and took our orders promptly. Our lunch arrived and we felt it was very good. We should not wait another couple... More

In my university years this was the place to go for great pub food and drinks!! Well that was over 35 years ago and I can honestly say that the DH still looks the same & smells the same ( old beer and stale air). They have not put any money or effort into maintaining a decent pub. What a... More

I love the DH. It's one of the few Traditional Pubs in Windsor. It has a vast history dating back to the rum running days...and you can feel the age of the pub as you step inside. It might look kind of like a dump at first, but it has a certain charm to the old building. They have a... More

Everything about this place screams heritage - the classic look, the old school atmosphere, and the great pub food. I've been here umpteen times and it's simply amazing. The staff is always friendly, the beer is cold, the food is outstanding. Some of the best fish-and-chips in the city...great salads, burgers, appetizers, you name it. Large patio in the back... This was our second visit to the DH in the past few months. They have huge selection of draft beer and the menu as well as the prices are very good. The wait staff is very prompt and friendly.

Took my two sons for lunch today, hoping that they would enjoy the DH as I did as a U of W student. Unfortunately, it was a poor experience. Only 1 waitress, who was also the barmaid. Lunch took 60 minutes to get to the table. Others waited just as long. Food was great, beer was cold...but not worth such... More

This is a very old and historic pub. The beer is great. The burgers are good. The fries need work. The fries are soggy. The fish for fish and chips was good. The sweet potato chips were very good. Place needs a facelift.
