I think they have 'given up'

I love going to dinners... I especially love ordering the all day breakfasts so I was looking forward to finding a Dinner close to home that I could become a regular. Unfortunately this will not be the place. The ham and eggs were swimming in grease and I don't think it would be possible to... read more

Sorry, this restaurant is way past its prime. Greasy food, sloppily prepared, surly staff. Only saving's grace: quick service. These restaurants were a mainstay years ago. Now: great land for a condo guys...time to sell!

Hi - I only have a short time...interrupted....'are you sitting or taking out?', Oh - I was going to stay, but I ......interrupted...'then sit down' (walks away)....so I sit down. 'I was just wondering what the specials are...'No specials, just menu'. Oh, what is the house speciality....'everythings special'. Ok, I will have the souvlaki. "Small or large"... Anyway you get... My husband and I recently had breakfast at Leonard's and the bacon was hard/probably reheated from the day before and the eggs, over-easy, were not quite done. My fork had some old egg residue on it. The quality of food has drastically changed wherein the food is reheated from the day before and the food portions are a little smaller.... More

My younger son and I went here because it was close to a store we wanted to visit. He got the all-day breakfast: eggs and lots of ham, I ordered a Greek salad. The food is reasonably priced and edible, but it is in no way special. The restaurant is pleasant enough, and there is really nothing better in the... More

Our first visit to Leonard Restaurant on Laird Drive in Leaside. Upon arrival, the host (a man) told us to sit anywhere. We chose a table by the window. The chairs were covered in stain and when I sat down, I was poked in my right hand by a shape nail protruding from the chair seat. When the waiter arrived,... More

This is a gem in an area full of cookie-cutter chains. It offers good, honest comfort food and genuine service at a good price. All-day breakfast, soup, and sandwiches are what they do best. This is one of the few restaurants that still makes soups fresh from scratch. Bright and comfortable atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome, from babies to folks... More

Went for breakfast, waiter was extremely rude, lacked professionalism and even raised his voice at me for simply asking for a clarification on the bill. His behaviour was out of line and not only has this establishment lost 2 customers, I will be letting all my many contacts know not to dine there.

Went for breakfast with some friends. The food is just OK, the value is alright. The guy taking the orders and bringing the food clearly didn't want to be there. By the end of our visit we didn't want to be there either.

Leonards has amazing food, but not great desserts. Great breakfast.

Staying in East York

Neighborhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
