This was a great local find for us. Beer selection was oustanding and we loved our choices of microbrewed canadian beer. Food was excellent as well. Highly recommend for families with older kids, couples or even soft business meals.

Plopped amidst the Financial District and serving as a beacon for the suit and cellphone crowd, Beer Bistro is a sleek and upscale venue; there is a large, high-ceilinged dining room decorated with beer paraphernalia and a rather small bar near the entrance. Of course, they offer a patio for outdoor quaffing. The selection was impressive (30 drafts)/60 bottles) and... More

Always good service. Sit at the bar and enjoy the professional company of Greg the long standing barman who has been there 10 years. Obviously a great beer list and the wine list reflects good taste too with plenty there for everyone at every price range. The food is solid but not spectacular. Good venue for a casual dinner for... Very busy on a Friday night with what seemed to be an after-work crowd. We were seated promptly and service was fast. Our waiter was excellent and very helpful when we were trying to pick a local beer. Burgers and fries were delicious and the beers were local and perfect with the meal. Was fairly loud but not out of... More

Ordered the cider of the day, it actually tasted like perfume. Not so pleasant. Our friend ordered a martini, and had to send it back cause it wasn't drinkable. Ordered a second martini, that sounded like it would be sweet (Honeydew) it was grapefruit bitter. Again not drinkable. The beer selection was good for the two that drank beer, so... More

We had the private room in the back booked. Great space for our group! The drink menu is huge, definently something for everyone. Fries are yummy with mayo...the ketchup is made with smoked tomatoes - too much of a smokey flavor for me but everyone else loved it. Fondue was loved by all! Muscles were enjoyed by those that like... More

The first time I tried to go to the Beer Bistro it was so noisy that I turned around and walked out. But my experience this time was much better and made me want to go back. Excellent selection of beers, as you might expect from the name of the place. The menu offers quite a bit of choice, from... More

From the tine we walked in, this restuarant showed us they wanted our business. From two suggested beer tasting offerings, to very good wings, tasty burgers, succulent pulled pork to brilliant rabbit ravioli, we sib creels enjoyed the hospitality and our meal. When my som did nit like his ice cream, they brought a complimentary different flavor, when I asked... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
