Although there are many restaurants to chose from in this area, the Saint Tropez is our Go To place. We have found this to be the perfect place to pop in for a quick bite to eat. It can get quite busy and seating is close so if that doesn't bother you its perfect!!! My experiences there have always been... More

Was attending the theatre across the street so researched for a restaurant close by with a pre-theatre menu and settled on St. Tropez. Excellent choice. Entered on the ground floor (a sister French restaurant on the 2nd floor) to a small, nicely decorated, bistro style room. A little dim but quite serviceable. Only a third of the tables were taken... We loved St. Tropez restaurant. The prices was reasonable for a meal of three courses with wine and a dessert wine. The food was excellent, we had a wonderful rack of lamb cooked to perfection. Old French favourite songs played lightly in the background as well as a guest musician. The service was excellent and the server very knowledgeable .Its... More

My wife I were playing supper by ear and were surprised that nobody would take us as we didn't have a reservation, even though tables were empty. Lesson learned! St Tropez said wr arrived before the rush and sat us immediately. The servers were busy but were cordial. Supper was affordable and enjoyable. We were right in front of the... More

We have enjoyed the Saint Tropez in the past as a place for special dinners. Sadly, the service at this visit left much to be desired. After being comfortably seated at our reservation time, and having the specials explained by our host, we were turned over to an alternate server who seemed much less sure of the menu. We were... Good food, and live jazz style French music. Excellent ratio quality / price at 2 minutes from the theater district. Menu de style bistro à la francaise. Charmand.

Went for dinner with four people. The location of this restaurant is great - in the entertainment district pretty much across the street from the theatres. Walking distance to most downtown hotels, the financial district, etc. We walked from the Eaton Centre and it took 20 min. I had onion soup and a pasta. The soup was very good. The... More

I ordered the Penne aux Fruits de Mer which was penne noodles, mussels, scallops, calamari and shrimp with coffee which came to $29.32 with tax. Two pieces of bread was included. Washrooms in the basement. No wifi.

This is our favourite restaurant when we go to a show and is a great go-to anytime we are in Toronto. It has the food and ambience of 6th arr. bistro.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
