Authentic Brazilian Cuisine!

This is my favorite Brazilian restaurant in the GTA. The food is delicious, the desserts are amazing! Small place, nice patio, very authentic and staff speak Portuguese.

I took my (Brazilian) girlfriend here on our first date in downtown Toronto. The service was phenomenal. It was my first time trying a traditional Brazilian dish, and I was amazed. The staff were so friendly, and the environment was so fun. They were all fluent in Portuguese and English, so the trip is worth it for guests looking for... More

This place has some great food (not much variety or choice for vegetarians though), and their dishes are tasty. They have a nice outdoor patio for the summer time and comfortable seating inside as well. While the ambiance is nothing exciting, the food makes up for it. The best part about it though is the portions - they are massive!... More

My partner and I stopped in here for lunch one afternoon and were seated close to the large television so we could watch the world cup. Our server seemed surprised when we ordered an appetiser with our dishes and brought over our drinks and complimentary bread in a timely fashion. The bread was very stale and the butter was hot... - They don't serve authentic brazilian food - They put us to sit in the sun, when we asked to change tables they gave us an angry look and said "changing seats is not allowed". After a lot of argument, I said "Either I sit in one of those tables or I am leaving. If you can eat with 36C... More

We went there by chance and we were pleasantly surprised. The Picanha beef was very good, the rice and beans were very tasty. The service was reasonably quick (we got there Friday around 6PM), and we did not wait long to order and get our food. We know Brazilian food (somos brasileiros) and the Picanha was as close as you... More

Simple, unpretentious Brazilian restaurant. The Picanha was amazing and portion huge. No complaints about the food whatsoever. My companions enjoyed their meal as well. The four stars are for the food. Not crazy about the service, a bit amateurish. We were promised one table inside, and then it was given to someone else. So we requested to sit outside, but... More

I visited many times this Brazilian restaurant, just because is located close to my place. The food is not the best, and the service is terrible. I am not sure the reason why they make customers wait so long to take orders (if is lack of training or...). Sometimes they are really short of employees and it makes people wait... More

It's our 2nd time at this restaurant, the 1st one was 2 years ago. We searched for other Brazilian restaurants in Toronto, but it seem like tey all closed down; there's a reason why Rio 40 is still in business: their food is delicious, very tasty, good size portions, very extensive menu and price is very afordable.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
