Baldini: a true Italian cuisine. A simple sub shop was bought and turned into a popular fine-dining restaurant, and since 2006 it has been an appealing addition to the Trendy Leslieville Gem. Baldini presents guests with a pan-regional selection of dishes from Northern and Southern Italy, along with home-made pastas, breads and sauces.Executive Chef Sal, the sole owner, with over 20 years of experience, ensures that ingredients are fresh from local markets and are prepared only in the finest Italian tradition to ensure the best possible flavour. Followed by homemade gnocchi and other savoury pastas, risotto, whole-wheat thin crust pizza, along with meat and seafood dishes; Baldini has a wide range of full-flavours of the herbs and spices, that creates the full-Italian experience.Gentle jazz sets the mood, as our diners unwind casually on the classic brick wall and the cozy dining atmosphere, enjoying their meals at the heart of the Leslieville Gem. Experience a rich selection of the best Italian wines, complemented by the soothing ambience along with our friendly staff, which makes your visit at Baldini, a memorable one!

Warm and welcoming local Italian bistro

Warm welcome and pleasant service. The place has character (ok, it might need a visual upgrade here and there, but I consider that charming). The food was delicious and nicely presented. The calamari was exceptional. Good coffee too. And a surprisingly good wine selection by the glass. Try the... read more

Finally stopped in for lunch after going by on the streetcar for many years. Was all-with it and will return for dinner. This cozy restaurant with its exposed brick wall and old world ambience has much going for it. All but one of the ten tables have bench seating. Service was prompt, friendly and very attentive. The wine list is... More

We had diner at this small Italian restaurant. The food was excellent. The service helpful, relaxed and yet professional. It is a small place so reservations are recommended. Good wine list.

We were in this neighbourhood for the first time and simply happened upon Baldini's at lunch time. The décor was "worn chic", like it had been there forever. It had what I call a patina, which I find welcoming. Service was helpful and friendly and the food was excellent and good value. The wine list was interesting with some unusual... More

My daughter walked into this small Italian restaurant and were seated immediately. Service was efficient and fast but not hurried. We enjoyed our salads of baked goat cheese and bocconcini with tomatoes. We followed up with fungi risotto and penne rose - everything was delicious. A great way to start our evening before the theatre!

In the mood for Italian (again). Someplace quiet. Local Leslieville. Baldini's fit the order. At 7pm on a Sunday night, we were seated immediately. I'd say the tables were half full. Nice and quiet. No kids. My kind of place. The service by our waiter, Pat, was impeccable. A couple of Caesar salads, one order of Penne al a Vodka... More

I came here with my girlfriend last Friday night. The place was completely packed and I did not have a reservation. The welcoming servers were very nice and accommodating and managed to fit us in and added an extra table for us, between two larger tables! We ordered a Grilled Calamari to share, and let me tell you, it was... More

I went to Baldini's last night for my wife's birthday. I should have believed in the other bad reviews. Very poor quality and I regret that I took my wife there for her birthday. The food was not fresh, it was tasteless, the music was on and off all the time. The waiter Patrick was very nice tough. What did... More

Hello Bernard, We are so sorry that you had to go through this experience. I inquired about this and I found that no complaints were made. It seems surprising that you had a problem with every single little thing for every single meal course, without any complaints made towards the servers, management or the world-class chefs. These issues that you... More

Previously gave it a five star rating a few years ago, but since a change over in ownership, my rating has dropped. Previous owner worked full time in the restaurant and he provided excellent service and ensured quality. His personal touches and great memory of patrons, their likes and favorites made it a great experience. My first experience after the... More

Hello there, We sincerely apologize for your recent experience. We would just like to clarify some of the confusions that you might be experiencing. Baldini Restaurant has had the same owner as it did when it first opened back in 2006, and has continued to carry the Baldini vision, ever since. Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
