New name and staff

Owner John has apparently gone on indefinite health leave and has left the store in the hands of a younger new staff. Same great sushi on same great menu. New name however: Sushi Mugen. Still the best in the city IMHO. Note that we have lived in Japan, so we know good sushi from the rest. I am... read more

Roughly 75% of sushi is intentionally mislabelled, substituting cheap for expensive. If you order "white tuna", you're either very luckily going to get albacore, but almost certainly going to get ESCOLAR aka "snake mackerel" a fish banned for consumption in Japan and Italy. Thanks for ruining my day Sushi Marche.

One of the best quality sushi you can find in Toronto. Chef John always serves quality sushi and sashimi and everything is made to perfection. The menu may at first looks pricey for a take out place but the quality totally makes it worthwhile. The place is very busy so be prepared to call in advance to place your take... More

Toronto has many many sushi restaurants ... This is by far the best. Selection is great .. Quality amazing and the price is not bad at all for what you get. Considering this is basically take out only it is a amazing place.

of all similar sushi eateries in the city. Their sashimi lunch special is very large and a bargain at only $20. They have re-introduced seating at Sushi Marche. They used to have a table or two back when they first opened, but had gotten rid of those as the years went by. Now there are 3 tables. Their salad dressing... More

Bar none the best sushi in Toronto. We have tried litteraly hundreds of sushi places in the city but we always come back to Sushi Marché. The (take-out and delivery) service is great, the sushi is irreproachably fresh and paired nicely with interesting ingredients. Presentation is aways remarkable. I should mention the amazing ginger salad dressing which we buy full... More

For a walk in off the street take out sushi place, they do allow you to sit on the few chairs they have to eat what you ordered if you like. Our sushi was fresh and the place was extremely clean. Expensive for take out but I think it's worth it. Will be back when I am in the neighbourhood... More

We love it there. Marche is casual, fun, and choice for food is over the top! Going to be in Toronto again soon and this is where we're going to meet up. Recommended, recommended! Not a bad word.

We eat sushi 3-4 times per week and have tried most of the more reputable restaurants in the city. Sushi Marche is by far the freshest and most high quality sushi in the city of Toronto, without doubt. The Laird location, which is where we do take-out (this is a take-out only location) has the best sushi made of the... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
