Tarts... The good kind

Dufflet hits it out of the park every time, but the lemon tarts are the best. Fresh, perfect pastry, a little bit buttery, with just the right amount of tartness to make the sides of your tongue tingle. Also, she makes a gluten free carrot cake, that's probably better than the original, and makes... read more

All of Dufflet's pastries are delicious, fresh, pure, and excellent! In particular, I love the lemon tarts and the chocolate fudge cake!

The lemon dacqoise cake is, without a doubt, the most decadent and delicious cake I have ever tasted. The lemon flavour is light and airy and the cake is made with almonds and meringue and it pretty much floats in your mouth and down your throat. You'll be in heaven way before your time!! A very close second is the... More

Dufflet is one of those iconic Toronto dessert companies where if you live in the city, you are bound to have occasions where their desserts are served or spotted in local grocery stores. Unfortunately, I don't care for their desserts at all. I've tried their cakes, tarts, and pies. They've all been disappointing. A lot of times, the cakes are... More

They make some of the best desserts ever. Nothing leaves you feeling heavy and everything seems to taste great!

I started coming to Dufflet when I lived down the street from the Queen St location more than a dozen years ago. The first time I tried the raspberry charlotte, I was in love. It's been one of my favourite desserts ever since. And whenever there is a special occasion and I'm in T.O it just gives me a reason... More

I am not big on sweets but every Dufflet pastry or cake I have ever tried is exceptional! Really, not your typical stuff.

They are yummy. If they are on the menu when I drop in for a coffee I cannot resist having one. The chocolate ones are my favorites

I bought a birthday cake here for my wife 5 years ago and I have gone back ever since. The patries are fantastic and their pies are too.

Not cheap, but consistently among the best cakes and pastries in the city. Get in early for best selection.

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
