The Food is still okay, the Service is okay, but the Place needs a facelift

The delightfully friendly and mature hostess was also doing double duty on table service. The kitchen forgot about a mussels appetizer (one of three), then after a reminder brought it together with the main courses. It's a first world problem, no doubt, but the mussels were also on the small side... read more

Over price, if you want boil food and over price then is ok for you to come here. Exam 2 small pieces of boil salmon fish with rice and nothing else for $35.00. Even with Buytopia or Groupon price is no worth it. Save your money and goes else where.

Great lobster. Friendly service from a 29 year veteran who told us of the line ups in the past. However, the decor needs an update as it looks like it hasn't been renovated in decades. Would not recommend the fries as it feels like McCain frozen fries.

I have fond memories of dining on lobster here with my mother, auntie and my mother's east coast man. It was nothing fancy but the real deal -- an honestly weighed and cooked live lobster with middling sides but who cares -- its the lobster that counts. Fast forward many many years later, we arrive to an empty restaurant a... More

They make a decent lobster for anyone who will not cook live lobster for themselves. I do so I feel my lobster is better. I generally don't like to order food I cook better than the restaurant so this wasn't a huge hit for me. Having said that most people will like this place. Good but I'm picky when it... More

Once a legacy, this place has never received an update in decades. The food is way over priced and not even average at best. Spend you money and time elsewhere, anywhere.

The kitchen forgot about a mussels appetizer (one of three), then after a reminder brought it together with the main courses. It's a first world problem, no doubt, but the mussels were also on the small side. Again, a somewhat minor issue. The oysters/half-shell appetizer I... More

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and as I'm about to retire, that means a long time. The surroundings are tired and the carpets gross. But never mind I said the food is always good. Well it's not. The lobster bisque was $11.00 so I expect a lot from a soup at that price.... More

I have visited Halifax before for just the lobster and I must say I still like the lobster they serve here at Lobster Trap! The seasoning is amazing and very tasty! I love their Lobster bisque!

The Management goes above and beyond to make your meal a very memorable one. My brother has been telling me about the food for years, he treated me to dinner. I was really impressed with the food quality. I know the décor is outdated, but I went for the food. I will go back in a heartbeat.

Old furnishings. Dead air conditioning. Not enough waitstaff. Slow service. One bottle of each wine so they could not bring a second. But worse: the lobster was overcooked and chewy. This used to be our favorite. Best to let old memories fade. Let this place die on its own.
