Really Good Food!

Food was delicious, definitely good sushi. We felt a bit rushed to eat and get out as soon as possible. Very small space, but still a nice atmosphere.

I've never visited any restaurant like here. The server was extemely terrible. I want to know the servers have permit to shout to the customers. Food is not bad but deep-fry was not crispy.

Small, authentic, creative, and enthusiastic. The waitstaff are pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The kitchen is conscientious and informed about gluten and lactose sensitivities. Making accommodations/adjustments was not an issue. Given the size and popularity of the restaurant, reservations are definitely recommended.

I went to the one on Queen St. E. in Toronto's fabulous beaches neighborhood. It's one of the best Japanese restaurants that I've ever been to. The friend that I went with told me that it was the best Japanese restaurant that she's been to since she lived in Japan.

I have been to this restaurant many times when I was a dental student at UofT. This little gem in DT Toronto is tucked in and quite hard to find. When I tell my friends to meet at this restaurant, they walk right by it without realizing. My favourite food there is chirashi. Their rice is so wonderfully seasoned. I... More

Terrible service. Arrogant male server. I would avoid this place just because the experience i had was absolutely unacceptable.

This is my favorite sushi place. I come here quite often for lunch and dinner. I also go to Yuzu which is the same owners. Despite the restaurant being small and uncomfortable, the delicious sushi more than compensates for it. If you are looking for a more comfortable spot then go to Yuzu. Both places have great sushi. My fav... More

If you want the best sushi in town Japango is the place. Have been here about 100 times and the freshness has always been spot on. I must say our visit yesterday was the best so far. Service was so friendly and the dynamite rolls were fantastic! The toasted sesame ice cream is a must try if you want dessert.... More

My friend(not Japanese ) strongly recommended this restaurant, so I went for lunch. The food was really nice. But one thing disappointed me was the manner of staff. She wasn't polite. It wasn't like Japanese restaurant... (Actually, all of the staffs were Korean, haha ) If you come to Japan, you can eat same quality sushi with cheaper price and... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
