To a great degree Italian dining in North America moved from hearty ‘better red than dead’ Southern cooking to the fancier, often cream-based Northern cucina. An evening at Mirto, however, proves that, well, the south of Italy will rise again. We came in on a Saturday evening, which is not the busiest night for this eatery located in Toronto’s business... We went here on a Saturday night and it was totally dead. We learned that this restaurant caters to the corporate crowd mon-fri. Our experience was so-so. Food was ok and service was pleasant but rushed (not sure why because there weren't many customers). I might consider trying this restaurant again if it is during the week but I wouldn't... More

We stumbled across this place while searching for another restaurant and decided to change our plans since it was raining. Happy we did. Friendly service enhanced the delectable food and good wine list. We spent the time awaiting our food looking at the building's interior. Twenty-foot ceilings with old moldings and large windows allowing plenty of natural light proved once... More

Went one night and the service was awesome! Rachel made sure that my wine glass was full and gave me great suggestions for the evening. The tiramisu was great! The music was great. Went again and the evening started great. I was greeted by the owner and he remembered me from the night before. I ordered the caprese salad (good)... More

Nestled in the financial district of Toronto this restaurant, once a trust company, is located in a heritage building and still holds some of the original architectural beauty. Our welcome was warm and the service was excellent, very friendly, personal and attentive. We came to this restaurant through a groupon coupon which offered a four course fixed menu - it... More

Bought a groupon for this restaurant. The ambiance was ok - small and quiet, which is good. Service was kind of abrupt and rushed. Wasnt very perosnalized. Had 2 different people taking our orders, delivering food, etc. Never came back to see how our food was. I even had to get up myself to get the pepper grinder and grind... More

Been here many times. Never been disappointed. Excellent and reasonably priced wine list. Decor is not fancy but the environment is comfortable and warm. Love the Rigatoni Gorgonzola.

We found Mirto to have character and ambience similar to restaurants we have visited in Italy. The owners strive to make your visit very pleasant. The food and particularly the pasta were excellent. A nice break in a cold Toronto winter.

231 out of 6349 restaurants in Toronto! Are You Kidding? Atmosphere was lousy, ceiling falling apart, washrooms dirty. Food was mediocre at best, bread tasted like it was made in a home bread-maker. Service was abysmal, 15 minute wait between every course and we were the only diners in the joint, that should have been our first clue. Definitely on... More
