Great homemade food, homey feel, excellent italian food,

Went here as part of a birthday celebration and used the Groupon ($65 for $134) for dinner. Simple and straightforward menu and few options but go with what the restaurant is known for. (Italian). It was a four course meal and good portion sizes along with quality/taste. Here's the menu... read more

We had a groupon for dinner at Mirto. What a fantastic meal! Food is exceptional and all freshly prepared. Service was excellent (a little quick but I think they were expecting tables later & they took us as a last minute red). The owners are all there & hands on, one being the head chef. We loved every part of... More

I have visited Mirto 3 times for its tiramisu, which is one of the best ones in Toronto. When you walk in the restaurant, you are not acknowledged. The first time we went, the server was drinking wine on the job and flirting with a guest! He also made us feel bad, saying: "Only Tiramisu?". After that, he quickly grabbed... More

My husband and I had a groupon to this amazing restaurant for a four course meal. Started with a Caesar salad. Best homemade dressing I've ever tasted. Followed by rigatoni with pork meat sauce. The waiter topped it with fresh Parmesan and ground pepper. Again, blown away with the taste as it had fresh basil as well. Our entree was... More

There is nothing fancy about the place. But the food is above average and does all the talking. The staff, most of which are owners or so it seems, are attentative, friendly and willing to go the extra distance to make sure you are satisfied. There were 4 of us for lunch, and while we all had pasta dishes, the... More

My husband and I bought a Groupon for Mirto to use while we were on a little getaway into Toronto. We had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We went on a Saturday night and it was a very good thing we had reservations. The place was hopping and walk-ins were being turned away. The owners were bustling about and... More

Mirto Is a place that I just have to hit when I'm in Toronto. Simply amazing ambience and feels like home. Great food - try the always great prosciutto, asapargus and gorgonzola pasta..... rich but yummy as my wife described it recently. The veal is great and do not skip dessert! If I had one night in Toronto I would... More

Visited here on a Monday evening. If you like good rustic simple Italian food done well this is the place to go. Service was good and efficient. We had the beef and lentil broth which was excellent, followed by spaghetti in tomato sauce and my husband had the rigatoni. Both meals were excellent, a good size portion and well seasoned.... Nothing awful happened, just not a great experience. As a whole I felt some hostility from the staff, and the waiter was extremely awkward. Salad, pasta, and dessert were all very good, and I very much enjoyed the Scotch selection, that being said, the main (steak) was poorly done. I actually struggled to finish it, which is rare for me.... More

To a great degree Italian dining in North America moved from hearty ‘better red than dead’ Southern cooking to the fancier, often cream-based Northern cucina. An evening at Mirto, however, proves that, well, the south of Italy will rise again. We came in on a Saturday evening, which is not the busiest night for this eatery located in Toronto’s business...
