A Quiet Winner

One of the unheralded, better restaurants in Toronto is "Cava". Located in a non descript mall alley, just north of St. Clair and Yonge, you would never head for this place if you did not know what was going on there...And, it's fair to say, a lot is going on. Basically a Spanish tapas concept... read more

After dining here, I can understand how it made Canada's list of top 100 Restaurants. The food was delicious and an incredible mix of things I had never had before. My friend and I took advantage of the "Let us feed you" option on the menu, which took all the guess work out of the experience and made it more... More

Trying hard to be Spanish when you're not. ... Overwhelming cumin flavours, no bread unless you ask, papas fritas served in a paper cone cut like "french fries"????... how can anyone rate this as a good Spanish or a "whatever" good restaurant. Fantastic selection of wine, nice decor but does that make it a good Spanish tapas restaurant? The ceviche... More

Since Cava serves many inventive and delicious small pleas, this is a great place to visit with another couple or small group of friends. The idea is to order lots of different items, tapas style, and share them around the table. Each item we tried was exquisite, and there are lots of options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The management... More

This restaurant experience was very disappointing. The service was very slow (we waited almost one hour just for Serrano ham to arrive), the quality of food they serve isn’t exceptional and the quantity is ridiculously small… In addition to this they are very pricy… As Europeans we know how Spanish food should look and taste and this one is just... I find the food at Cava to be really good. The service is excellent. The staff is efficient, friendly and fun. I look forward to going back.

Four of us descended to this restaurant 3 weeks ago. We are fond of Spanish tapas and were looking forward to the meal. Unfortunately the food was not up to par.We ordered the Ceviche to start (bland) and the octopus salad which was similar to the ceviche. The Papas Fritas were frech fries with a small helping of the sauce.... More

Went here a few weeks ago with some friends. One of them had been here before. The food was full of flavour. The wine list is really good. Had kitchen issues so food was slow coming out. Manager did come by to say sorry for delay. It's a nice atmosphere. It is expensive but worth treating yourself. I would go... More

Spanish restaurants are very popular these days and Cava has been around a long time so they must be doing something right, so we have decided to give it a try and invited two other couples to join us. The reservation was for 8PM and the table was ready when we arrived. The menu is not very big but there... More

Good service, reasonably comfortable ambience. Been here a few times, but was a little taken aback at the cost per plate - it can be very expensive indeed. So, anticipate doing $75 a head on the food, and you won't be leaving feeling full. The actual dishes sometimes seemed a bit fussy, mostly were quite tasty. I just felt that... More
