Good and tasty food

We've been to this restaurant a few times now. It serves tasty and original tapas style dishes. Don't expect big portions and it's not cheap but the food is really delicious! Good selection of wines as well.

We started with the warmed olive appetizers. Yummy start. The four of us had 8 different dishes highlighted by the garlic glazed brussel sprouts and boar bellies. The service was very efficient and attentive.

I was last at Cava about 4 years ago. The same attention to detail and exemplary cooking remains despite the change in ownership. We came as a party of four and ate a wide variety of tapas. Even when throwing caution to the wind as in this occasion, our final bill was not outrageous. Impeccable service from our waitress heightened... More

Cava has a great reputation for fine tapas dining, and it's well-earned. Pincho starters are delicious, as are the warm olives and other small plates, including the Papas Fritas with truffle oil & grated cheese. The larger plates are no less fabulous, including the sable-fish, Tagine of Lamb, and my favourite, the Paella. Their wine selection is excellent, especially Spanish... More

I have not been to Cava for a while and was thrilled to find it has only gotten better since my last visit. I'm a big fan of the smaller bites, shared plates style of eating so Tapas or chichetti are a fav. The small bites on toast called pincho's offer some wonderful taste sensations. We tried the avocado &... More

We went for the tasting menu and 5 out of the 8 dishes were out of the park hits. Out of the park as in hysterically (as is this reviewer) good. The sable fish - what I can say about this dish. It lit up my tongue like guitar hero - highlight of the night. I think I took a... More

We asked for our server to choose our meal for us and each dish was an exciting and expertly composed gastronomic delight. There were no 'low points', every bite of every dish was elation. I would also love to return just for some dessert, or drinks and their supergilda and some manchego.

I took my husband to Cava for his birthday dinner. We spent a few days scouring reviews and top restaurants and decided on Cava. We enjoyed it very much. It was a warm night and we decided to sit outside but in retrospect we would probably choose to sit inside next time, as it seemed cozier. We started with a... More

We went to Cava on Sept. 28,2015. They were fully booked so they could only accommodate us at 5:00 pm. We started with Pinch of Valdeon with sherry roasted figs and Chicken liver with Foie-gras mousse. Both were very good. Mousse was very silky and the roatsted figs were fantastic. Next we had roasted duck leg as well as Tajine... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
