Best tasting and wine pairing ever!

The food- incredible. Unlike anything I've ever been a part of in my life; my boyfriend and I did the 7 course tasting menu. Not only was each dish savory and wonderful, they actually were able to make 7 gluten free courses, all of which were outstanding. The wine pairing is a must! Each wine was... read more

I read the great reviews and I reserved here for my wife and I. We had the ten course tasting dinner with the wine pairing. The reviews are right, this is the best meal we ever had. If you have a special someone or a special event do yourself a favour and come here. The General Manager of George -... More

I normally never write a negative review, but this place is potentially so good, it would benefit from correcting the problems. Food was the work of a world class kitchen. My wife is pregnant and they even customized the tasting menu for her. 10 out of 10. We are no stranger to top caliber food and this was on par... More

It's not the most theatrical restaurant, it probably did not undergo a multi-million dollar renovation, it does not have a view that will take your breath away. But what it does have is really wonderful food and a friendly and professional waitstaff. The food is fancy, but the premise is simple: good food prepared and served well. A really nice... More

As others have said on here, this is probably the best restaurant in Toronto. George is famous for its 5, 7, or 9 course tasting menus. I have tried the 5 and 7, but have not had the time to go for the 9. The restaurant is expensive, but great value-- you are really being served fine art. I have... More

The food is awesome! The staff are far above average - even on a busy night. The best meal out in Toronto. It is an expensive night out - so, keep George for special occasions. The most important thing to share about George is that the chef is accommodating. The chef will make adjustments. He accommodates food allergies and sensitivities.... More

Hubby and I went here on a special date night and ordered the 7 course paired tasting...truly an extraordinary night out - worth every penny. The staff were terrific - every one was courteous, genuine, kind and knowledgeable - it was clear there's good teamwork happening - but we want to make special note of Ian. Beyond his OUTSTANDING knowledge... More

We had a lovely meal staying at the Ivy in George Restaurant. Our server was prompt, personable and had great opinion on food which really helps. I did the chef tasting at lunch while my wife opted for the a la carte menu. Loved the food, cocktails were creative and well balanced and it made for a wonderful meal. Highly... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
