Favourite Middle Eastern restaurant in my own city

I've been eating here for years with, friends, family, and even for business. The food has always been great at this hole in the wall, family owned and run restaurant. I have introduced many friends to their first taste of middle eastern cuisine here. It is in a location you have to look for but... read more

Food,Service, Price effective they have it all. I can't say enough about the Armenian Kitchen. It is a smaller, plain atmosphere place but the Service and Food will knock you off your socks. I love this place.

If one is looking for delicious, inexpensive, quality Middle eastern food, look no farther. In addition, the service was so efficient and friendly by Sylvia, that I was moved to tell her she was the best waitress in the universe. And that was only a slight embellishment. My spouse and I had lentil soup, roast tomatoes, falafel sandwiches, and a large lentil soup... It's not pricy and the food home made. It's worth to try it. We had 6 different dishes And look good with each one. Happy we stopped by.

The food was fresh , flavourful, and delicious . The menu appeals to vegetarians as well as carnivores. The location is a bit obscure but there is parking. I would have given the restaurant a higher rating if the place didn't feel a bit tired. The space could definitely use updating as far as decor and ambience are concerned.Nevertheless the... More

My husband is Armenian so we were very excited when we found restaurant with Armenian food. Well it was a huge dissapoitment. Food didn't taste good, meat was old and not marinated, bread was far from fresh as well. The only thing we liked was salad and rice. Even decor was bad. Definitely not going back.

My husband has been going here for 20 years and we always have a fantastic meal. It is a very casual place and while the decor leaves much to the imagination, the food is the reason we go. It is tasty, fresh and delicious. The service can be slow if they are busy but they are always very friendly.

My friend is a regular here, and he suggested the Armenian Kitchen. I'm glad he did. We stuck to several appetizers: felafel, hummus and other spreads, and a baked tomato dish. Most of the dishes were quite good -- although I found the pita seemed chewy and not fresh or warmed up. I've gone to Lebanese restaurants and paid double... More

My dad used to take me to Armenian kitchen as a kid... Almost 10 years ago. I went again recently as I was in the neighborhood and the food is still good, fresh and reasonably priced. Don't expect a fine dining restaurant or experience as you will get authentic Armenian food in a casual atmosphere.

Staying in Scarborough

Neighborhood Profile
Scarborough
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
