Arrived at the restaurant at approx 330am and was ushered to the back of the restaurant which I didn't like. When asked for a seat in the front I was told that the server for that area has already finished their shift. Nevertheless Andrew our waiter was very attentive and took care of us very graciously. Food was good and... More

Once a month we have to go to Toronto and most times we make a stop at Fran's for breakfast. It is a very good breakfast and the food is served very quickly and nice and hot! Our coffee cups were filled as often as we wanted but never had to ask for more. We have always had a nice... More

We ate here 2 times in one week. Not fancy but generous portions for fair price. Orange chicken and lasagna were both very good

Went here for breakfast since it was so convenient to my nearby hotel. Great eggs, bacon and potatoes with the wait staff frequently offering hot coffee. Since it was Thanksgiving Day, I went back in the evening for their turkey feast. The turkey was terrific -- moist and flavorful. The pumpkin pie was also very good. But the rest of... More

Just stumbled in from the cold. Never heard of this busy little city eatery. WE WERE VERY PLEASED Tara, the waitress had poise and class more typical of a high end restaurant. My western omelette with cheese was FANTASTIC. Wife got her old standard "sunny side up eggs & sausage" HUGE PORTIONS GREAT COFFEE BUSY FOR GOOD REASON

The neighbourhood may have changed a bit, but Fran's definitely hasn't. I popped-in and enjoyed a fantastic "big breakfast", and certainly wasn't disappointed. :)

Searched for a long time after a long flight for a nice breakfast around 8:30 in the morning and stumbled upon Fran's. This is the older location and was pretty packed when we arrived. We got a nice table in the back, which was nice and quiet. Everything is priced so well and you can get a huge breakfast (hashbrowns,... More

Perhaps it is unfair to go back to a place you used to go 25-30 years ago and expect it to be the same. The only thing that was recognizable was the name, Frans. The food which was known for its legendary burgers was a disappointment. The burger arrived overcooked and was on a stale bun. The fries were cold... More

Wholesome, filling meals at an excellent price - what more can I ask for? Well, service for one, which was excellent. Quality of foods - check. Fair price? Absolutely. An iconic Toronto eatery that I quite enjoyed.

Large portion (scrambled eggs bacon home fries and toast). Nice presentation. Well priced. Also very good coffee. Things to improve, service and condiments. (Service was slow and had to ask repeatedly for coffee, etched. Jam and peanut butter are cheepo brands and not very tasty) I would come again though.
