Staying nearby at the Marriott Courtyard, this restaurant had been recommended to my by my Son, who works almost across the street. Knowing how he enjoys eating, we decided to try it, and were not disappointed. Seven of us showed up unannounced and were seated on the patio. The menu has choices for young, old, and in between. I was... More

Massive menu choice so everyone got something the liked. It was a bit no frills but tasty enough and probably would have gone back if we were there for longer.

I ate at Fran's regularly several years ago so on a recent trip to Toronto, I made a point of getting there for an early lunch one day. I was immediately seated outside on the patio. As the host was leaving the patio, he asked a table of 4 young men - probably early 20's - if they had been... More

The food was great, just typical pub/grill fare, done very well. And the prices were very very reasonable. We sat outside and the ambience, with the wrought iron fencing and the noise of traffic, gave our experience added flavor and warmth. We will definitely visit again when we are in Toronto!

Was looking for a decent reasonable priced breakfast and stumbled upon Fran's restaurant. Huge breakfast and very well done and presented. They were busy enough but food came piping hot and in a good time frame. Lots of coffee top ups. A-plus for this breakfast

You must go to this Toronto landmark. It's been around since 1940. It was a real diner! Food portions were huge. Hubby had one of the bowls and it was so good! The kids were equally thrilled with their choices. My son ordered from the regular menu (BLT) and my daughter from kids menu (pancakes) and I ordered the salmon... More

Business trip, needed a place for some basic quick food. Fran's was around the corner from the hotel. Looks/feels 1960s diner style, Varied menu, food was fine, server okay.

We arrived in Toronto late at night and didn't know which way to turn to find something decent to eat near our hotel, the Eaton Chelsea. A member of the reception staff recommended Fran's at nearby College Street and it was great. With classic American diner decor, complete with plenty of chrome, this 24-hour restaurant has chirpy and efficient staff,... More

Fran's had a bit of a wait list, but since we wanted to sit outside anyway, we were seated immediately. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Great service. The outside eating area was limited (rather narrow) but for two of us, we were enjoyed the weather and people watching as we ate breakfast. My husband had an omelet... More

We came across Fran's as it was very close to our hotel. We had breakfast one day sitting out the front in the sunshine and it was lovely, corned beef hash and an omelette, we returned the next day before we left for the train to grab some breakfast and it was excellent again.
