I have many memories of Fran's from late night, post last call visits from years gone by. Many Torontonians made the same trek to grab a late night burger or fires. It's also always been a favourite for breakfast and brunch. Since the Yonge and Eglinton location closed up I forgot about Fran's and although I knew the College Street... More

Went around noon on Sunday and the line was out the door. Service was a little slow but I think that was due to the volume. Food was quite good though. Prices competitive with every place else down town. I had the Morning Glory...waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, carmelized apple, maple syrup. Very tasty.

First time here. Went for breakfast with a friend. Prices were good. For 6.95 we got bacon, 2 eggs, toast and a huge amount of home fries. I was quite impressed. I ordered a hot chocolate which came in a large glass stein with loads of whip cream on top! Relaxing, nice decor.

Wish we lived closer we would be regulars. Started with the Chicken Noodle Soup, delicious. My Sister order the Meatloaf. Came with Mashed and Saute Veggies. She raved about it so I tried. I have to agree that was some of the best Meatloaf I have had. I ordered the Ribs and Wings. LOVED the Wings, crispy and cooked perfectly... More

After a night of excess we stumbled into the first diner we found, desperate for something to soak up the alcohol. Fran's really hit the spot! Bacon, eggs, sausage, home fries, toast and pancakes were the perfect start to our day. Cheap and tasty, very enjoyable.

We had breakfast here and our wait person was personable and very funny. The food was excellent - can't beat the "home cooking", the portions and the value. I have eaten at all three locations and the food has been consistently good altho the service not always so entertaining. Looking for a good breakfast/lunch option for good value go to... More

Perfect for breakfast or lunch. The price is right, and the food is fresh, cooked old fashioned 50's diner style. Desserts are made fresh in-house, and not your usual run of the mill, out of the box pies. Four of us shared one huge piece of a meringue pecan whipped cream delight that was amazing after brunch. The price for... More

I would say average at best. The food and service was good. I would probably suggest a place with a bit more excitement and options. Toronto offers food options from around the world in just about every corner from African to Italian to Asian of all sorts. It was very cold so we chose not to walk far from our... More

This is a great place for a hearty breakfast in downtown TO. My colleague and I chose this place because it was a quick walk down the street from our hotel. We were unaware that it was locally famous. It was embedded in a busy block of College on the north side of the street just west of Yonge. The... More

Had been told about Fran's by someone who had lived in Toronto, and had been in previously. Fran's is a fifties-style diner, well priced and decent quality food, so I headed there this trip knowing it was a safe bet. The food was great, but I waited a while at the door to be greeted and seated and was left... More
