Travelling across timezones I feel as though I'm spending a lot of time in Al Stewart songs. Places bring echoes of time passages, visit Scarborough in Toronto and think about the English people who saw a little piece of England in Ontario. Dipping my feet in the cold stream of time, knowing I'm a little out of synch with the... More

Fran's has been a Toronto icon and tradition since 1949. Just a block away from Maple Leaf Gardens and across the street from the old Eaton's (College Park) it's long been the favourite diner of the downtown crowd. Especially late at night. These days, it's been updated and gone all modern retro-diner in the decor. The music can be loud... More

Went to Fran's with high expectations and from the moment we arrived from the service to the seating arrangments I was disappointed. Will not go back.

Very decent food for the amount you are paying. Fries were delicious. Nothing fancy, but will satisfy.

Good for late night breakfast! It's Diner Food and sometimes you just want to have diner food. Chips & gravy mmmmm.

Wanted a full breakfast menu so concierge @ Marriott courtyard recommended Fran's. I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (& added spinach) with fresh orange & cranberry juice. Garnished with fresh fruit & home fries. was very good. All 3 others at my table enjoyed meals also. Expensive ($35 for hubby & I not including tip) but convenient & good.... More

Fran's was recommended to me by my brother who use to live Toronto, he said you could get a massive breakfast. He was not wrong, great breakfast savory and sweet. It was great start to my five day mission which was to eat my way through Toronto.

I remember when Fran's was the only restaurant open for a full meal when the night was winding down but we still had lots to talk about. Good food at a fair price I have never been disappointed eating at Fran's Breakfast, Lunch Dinner or a midnight snack

This place has been around since before I was born. That's should say alot! It's kept it's reputation and still going strong. It's comfort food and its very good! You can go there in yoga pants its very casual. Price is great and the food and pies are amazing.

Frans is a good local diner style spot to have a good breakfast. Food is more than ample and of good quality. The omelets are full of toppings and the home fries rather crispy with flavor. Service in personable yet a bit aloof.
