Ate here twice for breakfast - 2/3 mornings we were in Toronto. Had great meals. Servers were very nice. Near our hotel - Courtyard by Marriot on Yonge. Looked in for dinner one night, but for us it is a breakfast place. Saw that this is a chain, and they had one or two other restaurants. The one near the... More

Unfortunately I arrived in Toronto with a cold - on my own, feeling sorry for myself and in need of some serious comfort food. I found it in spades here! What a great diner - fantastic food (I had the lasagne), big portions, great service and a big mug of tea - just what was needed! I was just annoyed... More

This was the "hangout" for friends attending the convention. There was a little of everything on the menu. Thank goodness for the lunch menu, the dinner portions were large and almost too much to eat. We were pleased with everything we ordered.

Great diner-style restaurant in downtown Toronto that's open whenever you need it. Definitely try the maple-infused sausage. Had it with scrambled eggs, home fries, baked beans and toast... and all for under $15!

This is an all around good place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner,it's great if you want a quick bite and nothing fancy. The wait staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is diner like.,food is tasty.

Great food. It was a nice evening and my son and I enjoyed eating on the patio. Lots of food choices at very reasonable prices.

In my youth Fran's was a daily stop...butter basted eggs, condiment trays, 6 inch high pies, award winning coffee...but then it changed hands and the new owners tried to make a fortune selling poor quality on Fran's name. A couple of years ago it changed hands again and was renewed to its former glory (almost) and the food was fabulous... More

The breakfasts in Fran's don't suffer from a lack on quantity or quality. Plan on skipping lunch. They're tasty and well presented. The ambiance is that of a neighbourhood place full of 'the regulars'. Given that the place is in the heart of downtown, that's an accomplishment in itself. Certainly a better place to eat for a business hotel trip... More

I have many memories of Fran's from late night, post last call visits from years gone by. Many Torontonians made the same trek to grab a late night burger or fires. It's also always been a favourite for breakfast and brunch. Since the Yonge and Eglinton location closed up I forgot about Fran's and although I knew the College Street... More
