Hidden gem in Yorkville

Another great dinner at Utsav, food is authentic and excellent value, the Naan and Dahl are fantastic. Owners are very friendly, especially if you love cricket, and always willing to recommend new dishes.

Fantastic Indian food! What a find - real Indian food, no wait to be seated, and excellent service throughout the evening! It's in a small space, below street level, so you have to keep an eye out for it. Ambience is pleasant - the space is small, but you are not crowded next to other tables, and the room is... More

We went because we wanted Indian food close to our hotel and the TA ratings were good. The food was average, served too spicy for our taste. Server didnt seem to understand English, we were never asked how hot (as in spicy) we wanted the food, we had to ask for rice, the beer came late, and its not like... More

The reviews show excellent I thought it was good but in general average. Maybe I'm crazy but I didn't see Tandoori anything on the menu. That's why I'm surprised at the ratings of "authentic" and "best ever". Maybe they don't have a clay oven. I should have asked but moved on to the Vindaloo. It was very tasty but not... More

Utsav is a very popular restaurant that serves authentic Indian food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the price is quite reasonable. Every dish that we tried (on 2 separate visits) was excellent. We suggested Indian music to add a nice touch. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.

The Best Indian Food I've had. We had the Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma and Abbo Gobbi (?) with the regular and garlic naan. They were all excellent and reasonably priced, just under $80. Very quaint atmosphere, highly enjoyed my experience I'll be sure to come back!

What we had: Nan - i order was plenty for 2. 1/2 Litre of the House Shiraz Lamb Madrasi Chicken Korma Rice - 1 order was plenty for two. Bill with tip $65. We went here at 5PM prior to a Raptors game. We were looking for a good and reasonably priced Indian restaurant. This fit the bill. Our review... More

One of the best I have had in N. America, and THE best by a distance, that I had in a two week visit this January. Six Indians, and this was a step above. Nice big Samosas to start, great crispy poppadums, two tasty curries and a nice plain naan, one glass of wine, and a Sprite, for around $50CAS... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
