This cozy restaurant makes a good first impression with its white tablecloths and tasteful interior design. Mostly our dinner lived up to the initial expectation, but there were a few stumbles. This is the first Indian restaurant where I can remember NOT being asked, "How spicy?" when we ordered. Either that was a sign of coming trouble or I was... More

Landed in Toronto from amsterdam and wanted a good indian. Ratings high and walkable from bay street were we checkin an apartment. The area is the fancy one as all expensive shops and hotels are located there. Ok the food, we love garlic naan and chicken tikka masala and madras which were both great!! But butter chicken is excellent too.... More

This well-appointed Yorkville restaurant serves delicious Indian food--well-balanced, flavorful, and infused with the perfect amount of heat. Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka, plus fish and lamb dishes are all prepared to perfection. The garlic naan is the best I have ever eaten. Service is friendly and efficient; and the owner goes out of his way to ensure that his customers are... More

I have been to many indian restaurants in North America what I liked about this place is that the food was simple and basic no overpowering spice/heat I was entertaining some investors and they wanted to try indian food - this was top rated in toronto. We ordered sag paneer, Matar paneer, paneer achari butter chicken and veg biryani -... More

I was on a visit to Toronto recently, visiting a friend. We came to Utsav given it was the highest rated Indian restaurant in the city. Goodness knows how. At about 8pm on a Sunday night, and there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived. Onion Bhajee's were the most bizarre I have ever seen. A large plate... More

My friend and I visited Ustav on a warm and pleasant Sunday evening. The restaurant was quiet, having arrived around 9pm. There were 2 members of waiting staff that weren't particularly attentive. I had to ask on several occasions to receive water. We ordered appetizers of Onion Bhaji and Samosas. I have eaten Indian food hundreds of times all around... More

One of the best Biryani (Chicken) that I have had the privilege of tasting in toronto, and considering how many locations serve it, and how much I love Biryani....that is saying something!!!! If you can look past the cost and snobby neighbourhood of yorkville, you'll get good food!
