Authentic Indian Food

This place is a gem in Yorkville. Authentic Indian food with lots of variety and everything was full of flavour. I have been here a few times now and the chicken vindaloo is my favourite dish. Utsav has become an always-visit on my trips to Toronto. Based on this and past visits on Fridays nights it would be best to make a reservation if you're planning on showing up after 6pm. Complimentary papadums were brought out quickly with chutney and two other sauces. It seems that whether there's one, two or three people in the party... More

I would break this rating down to 3 stars for service and environment and 5 stars for food. I saw the spices being toasted in the kitchen, the food was incredible!

The food here was incredible! My friend and I came in for dinner and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and he had a Salmon dish of some sort (sorry, not sure which). We both raved about the flavors and freshness of everything. The naan was great, portion size was perfect, would highly recommend this restaurant!

Super duper lunch in Yorkville for $10 plus tax!!!?? Excellent food , good variety and excellent service. The food is very authentic North Indian style and the restaurant , though does not serve either beef or pork, offers a good variety. Chicken and Lamb dishes ; all common Indian vegetarian dishes . Excellent lunch value.

Sunday lunch, such a quiet, simple, but nicely decorated restaurant. One would never know it was in the heart of the city. Waiter attentive, yet unobtrusive as we had a great chat with nephew and niece. Food was delish, spiced right, and even a smidge less expensive than our fav Indian restaurant in Newmarket. Naan was not as fluffy and... More

I have walked by this restaurant a million times but never thought about giving it a try. But since we are going to India we thought we would have a refresher course in Indian food. Ustav is located at 69 Yorkville Ave; downstairs in a small, clean room, just past Pusateri's .The food seemed quite authentic and the staff was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
