Auberge du Pommier is a lovely oasis in a rather soulless corner of Toronto, housed in a converted 19th century farmhouse, now across the parking lot from an ugly office building and an evangelical church. Restaurant itself is lovely. Had lunch in middle of winter in the glassed-in conservatory. Wood fire burning, white linen table cloth and napkins, good tableware. Food was very good; wine list is too. Service was good (despite an accident the waiter had with a bottle of red wine.) Nice location for special occasions, quiet and cozy, but food is just ok. Alas, Oliver & Bonacini is more about running a big restaurant chain and losing touch with customers. more
