A first class and classy restaurant

Adega is close to my husband's office near Dundas and Yonge. But even if it wasn't, I would still highly recommend it. It is one of those go- to restaurants that is consistently a place of quality. My boyfriend and I dined at Adega last weekend and I already cannot wait to go back! The atmosphere reminded me of restaurants straight off the streets of Lisbon and the food was fantastic. We ordered the octopus and pork belly appetizer .. So yummy! And the cataplana is HIGHLY recommended as an entree for any seafood lover, authentic and... More

This was a return trip for me to Adega (from last fall). The food is wonderful...not everyone likes these items but they could not have been better prepared...the sardines, the octopus. Had a glass of vinho verde and total enjoyed the meal and the service.

We really enjoyed our evening at Adega. Lovely servers, good food, and we were able to take our time and never felt rushed. If you're a fish/seafood fan, you'll be very happy here. I, actually, had the steak which I thought was very well prepared. Prices quite good overall.

Elm Street has several excellent restaurants, including Adega, which I tried for the first time during a business dinner of 5 people. The food - especially the seafood dishes - was excellent. One of my party had octopus over which he raved. Service was good, they have a nice wine list, and the price was reasonable given the quality. They... More

Maybe it was just that I chose badly for my entree. I really didn't think the fish I ordered was all that great. The rest of the meal was better, and my companions liked their food. We sat down, and the waiter brought us the most delicious plate of olives...we ate them all, and he brought more! The bread and... More

After hearing its reputation on tripadvisor, I made a reservation on Mid of June, as A person of partially Portuguese root ( on my mother side) I've been travel to Lisboa several times. I know what the atmosphere of a typical Portuguese restaurant is like. Unfortunately, when my boyfriend and I came at Adega, the waiter answers me with not... More

This is an authentic Portuguese restaurant, the ambiance, and decor is very good, with extremely helpful and frendly waiting staff. My only complaint was that I felt that there could have been more Portuguese dishes on the menu. But leaving that aside, the meal I had there was excellent, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this restaurant, in particular their... More

We booked a romantic dinner at Adega and were not disappointed. The restaurant is discrete and has a warm intimate atmosphere inside. No loud music and big noisy groups. Everything was excellent, from the olive appetizers and fresh corn bread, to the main dish and the wine. Service was professional and we did not feel rushed at all, which I... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
