Too noisey for me

Four of us had asked ahead for a quiet table so that we could talk. We were placed at the very back of the restaurant which was an OK choice. The restaurant was not full but a very noisy group of four was stil placed right behind us, making it difficult for us to converse. The food which I chose... read more

Decided to try out The Ace on night, the atmosphere was great, server was attentive, friendly and knew his way around the bar when it came to making drinks. The fried chicken was perfectly done and the homemade ice cream was delicious.. I tried the oatmeal ice cream and it was awesome.

Found out about The Ace from Triple D. Guy raved about their famous Christmas burger which features Christmas stuffing in the burger, cranberry sauce and the whole rest of the fixings you'd expect at a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. The place is small and fills up very quickly. However, the quality is excellent and the ingredients creative and blended perfectly.... More

My 3 sons and I chose The Ace for our annual Christmas Dinner recently and had a great time! Great service, excellent food! You have to try the Brussels Appetizer! We'll be back

With all the bazillion brunch places in Toronto, it's impressive that one sticks out so prominently over the others. Everything I ate today was absolutely delicious (eggs on pork belly and kimchi rice, part of a French toast, side of sautéed mushrooms which I then PUT in the kimchi rice, and a Caesar!). This is my new go-to for brunch.... More

My brother had been telling me to check out the ace since he saw Guy from food network eating one of their burgers. We tried their grilled Mac and cheese sandwich with spicy ketchup and I was definitely impressed. It's a great spin on two classics. The guys were also very friendly and hospitable.

One of the few places I know that caters to almost everyone. The menu has icons showing which items are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free, and there were at least a couple of options of each. I had the special of the day, the tuna tataki and it was amazing, as well as the peanut butter icebox pie, it was tempting... More

Salmon burger was just perfect... Slightly crispy on the outside and still warm and juicy on the inside. Fries were crackly on the outside, piping hot and flaky on the inside, almost like Belgian fries. The homemade ice cream (peanut butter) was like the inside of a Reese's candy bar, frozen over yet still as tender and melty and maybe... More

I really want to like this place. It is in Roncasvalles and has a cute interior and good staff. But the second lunch there was again disappointing. My friend had the Wellington brisket burger ($18) and the sever suggested to cook it medium Which she said ok too. It came out charred on the outside and dark gray on the... More

Very disappointing brunch. I ordered the quiche which was served cold and when I asked the waitress if she could get it warmed up she actually sighed. Seriously I don't like my quiche cold. My son order the eggs bene and the English muffin was cold. It was not what I was expecting considering the other reviews. The coffee was... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
