Delicious Prawn Sandwich

Stopped at The Ace after a morning at High Park with my two young boys. Our server sold them each on a big gooey grilled cheese with fries right away. I ordered a prawn sandwich...it was excellent! Huge chunks of prawn in a wicked dressing all on a large roll...and the fresh cut fries were a... read more

Fabulous meal. The four of us were amazed by the wonderful food. I had the brisket hamburger. It was the best hamburger that I have ever had. Caramelized rust on the outside, tender on the inside, well accompanied by pickle, special sauce. Service was friendly, informative and impeccable.

A very small restaurant serving up big flavors on the delightful Roncesvalles area of Toronto. Dinner for 3 started with the Fig, Ricotta, and Honey Crostini, a great combination of flavors and just the right size for 3 of us. Our mains were Trout, Fried Chicken and Brisket Burger. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service was friendly, and... More

Went here on the back of a recommendation from a friend who lives locally, and we really enjoyed it - great food and drinks, and a really good atmosphere. Very convenient for the trams just outside as well!

Not only is the food and service incredible! They treat children and those with Special Needs with grace and finesse. The fact that they spoke to our son and let him order by himself and let him take his time to order on his own; the patience they showed - not only with him but in their food is so... More

Really liked this place as soon as we walked in. Very friendly. Excellent menu. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered Mushrooms on Toast ($7) with arugula and an Arugula and Quinoa Salad ($12) Both were delicious. The drinks list was very long and varied and I was delighted to see they had Beck's non-alcoholic beer. My partner ordered Fried... More

Everything was pretty good, but based on all the fabulous reviews, I expected more, I guess. We went for brunch. I got the Ace Breakfast. he best part of mine was the bread, fresh & delicious. The rest was just okay. The potatoes, in particular, although scalding hot, didn't have a whole lot of seasoning/flavour. My friend got the Huevos... More

This is a small little place with a lot of character. We wanted to get a feel for Canadian food and culture and this was it! Food was amazing, especially the bison burger. The frites were our favorite though!

We were road tripping to Toronto and only eating at Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives locations! After visiting I can see why they were picked for Triple D! The space was so small and cozy and the staff were VERY friendly! We ordered the egg Benedict and the French toast! Definitely recommend both! Since the place is small, they may have... More

I went there for a first time for their famous burger. But it was sunday. Instead I had an amazing brunch. everything from the food to the service was great. The place is small but you have a nice intimacy feeling. Went there with our newborn and we managed to have a good time. A few days after I purchased... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
