Great Atmosphere - Great Food!

My husband and I finally got around to going to The Ace for dinner - we've been wanting to try it for years! It was a chilly Friday night, and we arrived about 8pm. It took about an hour to secure a table, but the staff were very friendly - we went for a drink close by, and came back... read more

A little cramped for 6 people, but well worth the drafty table at the front of the old diner. Crispy deep fried Brussels sprouts (heaven!) were followed by a steaming bowl of fish soup. Really delicious. My friends were equally pleased with their choices. The peanut butter ice box cake is clearly an over-the-top classic, but those who ordered it... More

A Saturday morning stroll searching for a spot with a girlfriend to brunch. We found THE ACE and the last two available stools at the counter. We were greeted in a very friendly way and as it was an occasion... 12.13.14 and we've never gone 'brunching' before we ordered Passionfruit Mimosas. Mmm perfect. The space is small but not too... Went out for a date night with my husband last week, thought we would try out Ace since its in our hood. upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff. After a short wait and cocktail, we were seated at a cosy table. The meal was just so so. Parts were undercooked, some items undercooked, too much raw garlic... More

This place is great! Like many other spots in Toronto, it's a little hole in the wall but has great food and a cool atmosphere. We went here for Sunday brunch. The best part about eating here - and I'm no cheapskate - is having your sides included with the price of the main. Sounds silly, but most places make... More

Arrived at about 7.30pm, and as they do not take bookings had to wait about 20 minutes for table. Once seated had 2 Ace Manhattan's, watermelon fizz and a Canadian sour. Starters of traditional Caesar salad and Farro salad, both equally delicious. Followed by crispy roast chicken and Ace country fried chicken - yum. Finished with Skor Ritz pie and... More

The Ace is a great dining find! The menu is eclectic, and food was amazing. I had the Flat Iron Steak Frites - it was cooked perfectly and had great flavours. Friends had the Fried Chicken and they too said it was great. The Peanut Butter Icebox Pie is a must :) The only downside is the size of the... More

Had a great brunch on Saturday. The booths are small and crammed together but the brunch choices are excellent. We had the breakfast burritro, french toast, eggs benedict and the open faced bagel and lox sandwich. The service was good and the restaurant wasn't too busy when we got there (around noon). We even splurged and split the PB ice... More

dinner here last night with an old dear friend. the experience was both over-priced and underwhelming. presentation was lame, food was uninspired and tables are far too close together making dinner conversation difficult. seriously we've had better food at a "fast food" joint-seriously. with dozens of resto choices in this area, AVOID this place. portions were skimpy and for the... The Ace.....is a re-claimed dinner...in one of the hottest areas in Toronto. They don't take reservations...except fro the front table 6-8 people... The food is an eclectic mix of fabulous flavours...some Asian(chicken) ...some Italian(meatballs)....and some Southern Fare (ribs)....that being said...every dish we ate was simply delicious.Yes...there are many flavours going on...but somehow they manage to make it all make sense....
