Homemade authentic Greek

After strolling around Greek Town, we stopped into Zorbas. We started off the meal with saganaki (opa!) and had a pita with Greek salad as a meal. It had a feel if sitting in your grandmother's kitchen as she comes for you. Great place

We were in the mood for Greek food in Greektown. Duh! and we went to Zorba's. I had the souvlaki and it was tender and juicy and came with plenty of sides. Would recommend!

There's doubt that Zorba's isn't a five-star restaurant. Its a bit of dive bar and that's how I like them. The atmosphere is always great on the Danforth. Their beer was great tooand they had plenty of pork souvlaki for my bros to satisfy their hunger.

Food is good, nice portions but it is the best cost benefit for authentic Greek food. We had octopus as appetizers and then we ordered grilled quail and lamb chop and everything was great. Service is friendly and fast. Nice atmosphere. I recommend if you are around Little Greek at lunch time! Could not go wrong.

I love to find a dive with great food, and can easily look past atmosphere, and even service. I was excited to try Zorba's after reading so many great reviews, but I was disappointed. I went with the family and ordered the pork souvlaki dinner for Four for $39 (great value). It was served family style, starting with garlic bread... More

The dozens of blocks along the Toronto's Danforth comprising Greektown has many restaurants....many of them Greek themed. Since moving into this neighbourhood 30+ years ago many have gone Med. upscale......mostly still good/some pretentious. Then on a recent outing 6 of us headed for Zorba's, one of the few 'kitchen places' left where specialty mains are there for the choosing upon... More

Yup definitely felt Greek in here, while looking for a breakfast place we found ourselves here at 9am in the morning. We walked in and the place was quite spacious in terms of seating capacity even though it didn't look so big from the outside and decorated better than a lunchroom in a high-school at least. With a Greek radio... More

The food here is great. I have tried several restaurants on Danforth and Zorba's quality of souvlaki and greek salad is superior compared to all of them. The decorations and atmosphere aren't the things you come here for. It is all about the FOOD, that is comparable to most of the pricier Greek restaurants on Danforth. Try it ;)

Staying in East York

Neighborhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
