Amazing and fun dining experience!

We went here for dinner and both ordered the "imperial" from the grill side of the restaurant. This included a rib eye steak, teriyaki chicken and lemon shrimp. It was all cooked in front of us on a grill at our table. The chef put on a good show with his fast chopping techniques and a volcano fire... read more

We celebrated a friends birthday today. We had a group of 15 of us. Our reservation was at 6pm but unfortunately due to traffic we got there 45 mins late. The manager and staff at the restaurant were more then accommodating. They were all very professional and understanding. The food was perfect and plentiful. Had a great time and would... More

we went this place with bunch of friend on Saturday night, we heard a lot of good thing about their teppanyaki, however, perhaps it was so busy night, we didn't see a good show at this time, but the food and services are still satisfied, I would not go their on weekend if I give it a try again.

I am very picky about Japanese food and this place did not disappoint. Very authentic menu and flavours. I can recommend the oyakodon and nigiri sushi without hesitation. Portions are perfect, and very reasonably priced at lunch. Great deal for this calibre of food and for Yorkville, especially. Ambiance and service are also excellent. The noise level is good-- there... More

This was our second New Year's Eve at Yamato, we've also been there for other occasions. What a great time! There was 14 of us, not quite enough to fill the 20 person Tappenyaki table, but I think we will next year. The food is excellent and the chefs are very talented, friendly and funny. It's a great spot to... More

We love this restaurant and make at least one visit from out of town a year. The food is top notch, the chefs are great and entertaining. The prices are very reasonable for this type of service.

I really love how they cook the food in front of you and you get to interact with the chef. Not only this, the food is excellent - especially the Filet Mignon! If you aren't feeling the teppanyaki style, the sushi is also excellent at this restaurant.

We went to this place a few times for sushi. They have a teppanyaki area as well. The sushi was pretty good. The waitresses were Japanese, the service was excellent. Best Japanese in Yorkville.

Do you know that restaurant where you wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you went and it was closed down? This is it for me! I have been coming here over 10 years, and have been around the world, and this is by far the, freshest, tastiest sushi I've had (like Candy). The staff is supremely friendly, and... More

Being from out-of-town, I was looking for a nice restaurant not too far from the hotel in which I was staying. I was just feeling like having a Japanese meal. Walking around Yorkville my friend and I happened upon the Yamato restaurant and we could see from the street level down that it was crowded with people having teppanyaki -... More
