a great meeting place

I almost forgot how good their Reuben sandwich was. m and to be honest I still forget. I had it to take out and it missed the spot. Since I took it home with me I could not complain to the management , whom I know quite well, and I am quite certain they would have made it up to... read more

I came here looking for a late breakfast. They have a $5.99 breakfast special and so I ordered two eggs. toast, and makes sure you order the corned beef hash! Don't expect your typical hash for this - I think that what they use is the super-tasty guts from the inside of a kishka! Perfect about of spice and flavour!... More

We had the corned beef hash breakfast which was nice ..and the price for two, with coffee and toast was under $20 !! It's amazing ..family owned, by nice people , who took the time to talk to... One review stated to try their lemonade and I would have liked to if the waitress who took our order would have brought it over...or any drinks at all.  After we arrived, and got our 3 kids settled in (not as kid friendly as some reviews state), they asked us to move to the other side of the restaurant to... I have been going to deli's since I was a kid. Ive been to the now closed Wolfies to the old school Pancers. The new yorker has sub par smoked meat and terrible service. We ordered 2 smoked meat sandwiches with fries and slaw. Our server just brought the sandwich with a pickle. My son had the hot dog and... More

We always eat here when visiting family in the area. It's a great place for a quick bite or a full meal and is very kid friendly. The food is homemade and everything I've had from the matzo ball soup to the borscht to the pastrami has been delicious. They also serve breakfast all day which is a plus. Huge... More

NYD offers a great range of deli favourites. All are served quickly, hot and fresh. Prices are good as well. This is not a fancy place by any strethc - and does not pretend to be - just good food.

This place is definitely an institution in Toronto. The corn beef and hash alone will make you come back. I have only been for breakfast and always leave satisfied. There is a lot to choose from the menu and you can tell the clientele are regulars as they don't even look at the menu. Check out this Deli for sure.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
