Happy discovery

We actually went downtown to go to a nearby restaurant, which had disappeared, so ended up here as my son remembered it from when he used to work nearby. There's a reason it has survived. This restaurant has been here for years and every time I go, the quality of food has maintained excellence. Portion size is good. Service is great. Try their lunch menu. It's reasonably priced. I have watched it increase over the years (what hasn't) but it doesn't seem to affect the portion size! I always get their soup (pic) but their... More

Thai Princess is a small, cozy restaurant that fits well in the Entertainment District on King St W. The food (my standby is the curry pad Thai) is good, prepared quickly, and, if ordered for takeout, served in dishwasher-safe reusable takeout containers. Would easily recommend this place to small groups and for takeout.

I went there again and as last time the food is just great. The Chicken Lemongrass soup full of flavours, the chicken tender and juicy, the mango salad with a very nice and subtle dressing. If you enjoy Thai food check this place out.

I guess it's an ok place for a casual Thai exploration, the food was tasty, as usual I ordered the Curry Chicken and it's not bad at all... The place is a bit too small to have some real quality time with friends though. We made a reservation well ahead of time, and went as a big group for a... More

I visited the Thai Princess during a business trip for a quick dinner. The service was very nice and quick. The lemongrass vegetable soup I ordered was delicious with all the great flavours I like about Thai food. The basil chicken was nicely prepared and tender and did not have that penetrant chicken taste I often experience in Thai or... More

Ducked in for dinner during a business trip- really enjoyed the curry pa Thai, nice variation on tried and true. Service was very good- my only compliant was the Thai iced tea was REALLY sweet- for my taste it could have been a bit more tea. Wouldn't hesitate to return with family and friends. Tables close to the door suffer... More

I love Thai food and until this dinner, princess Thai was always my place to go to. Maybe there is a new chef... The food portion was much smaller than usual and I paid an extra charge for additional shrimp! It tasted great, but it was disappointing at the same time. The padThai was excellent- as always. Service was great.... More

I specialize in Thai restaurant reviews (over 50 so far), and this is my first in Canada. Looking at the list of Toronto Thai places, the Top 10 all boast an average of 4 stars. Maybe they ARE all very good? Thai Princess served me a nice plate of Pad Thai Dao Hu (tofu). First bite seemed rather sweet, but... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
