Was taken here for dinner last Friday night by an old friend to celebrate a new job I helped her get...and they made my evening start off great by getting me a frosty martini quickly when I arrived early. Service and food were exceptional...and they let us gab into the evening with no worries.

We like this restaurant so much that we travel here regularly from outside of the City. Great local spot with a small but flavourful menu offering. Service is always friendly and they have a good wine selection and wonderful deserts. The decor is cozy and creative.

I went here for dinner yesterday with a friend who lives in the area and who has always wanted to try it out. Sauvignon looks very small from the outside but it's actually really spacious inside. I had the oriecchiette and my friend had the special of the day which was a vegetarian dish with quinoa and curried vegetables and... More

I've decided to finally review this restaurant considering I've been enjoying their steak for almost 2yrs. It's a small cosy restaurant at the beaches. Service is good. Small menu and wine list however, I haven't been disappointed yet. I'm drooling just thinking about their crispy Caesar Salad. I've found this restaurant to be perfect for myself and my love. Try... Lovely local restaurant in The Beach area of Toronto. Funky decor. I would certainly return if it was convenient but I would not make a special trip. Steak frites were good but the highlight was a lemon meringue cheesecake. I did not initially order it but my wife gave me a bite of hers which prompted me to order one... More

I went to Sauvignon Bistro tonight with my friend Trish and loved it. Seemed like the entire menu appealed to me but I settled on a special feature - meatloaf on mashed potatoes and vegetables. Meatloaf is one of those things that I have preconceived notions about what it is to be like because my Mom made it when I... More

We went here for new years eve and although it wasnt particularly decorated for the seasons festivities, the layout was really interesting as it's an old converted house. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the duck which was the best duck i had ever eaten, and my fiancé amd his brother both had the special which was the beef... More

My Girlfriend and I were thinking of going to the Distillery District for dinner but had a change of heart at the last minute as we were on the "beaches" area so we decided to go on an adventure and try a new restaurant in that neighborhood and so we found "Sauvignon". My girlfriend's friend suggested this cozy restaurant which... More

My friend and I had just seen a movie at the Beaches cinema and we fancied just a drink so we popped into Sauvignon. My friend had been many times, whereas this was my first visit. it was late, maybe about 9.30 and we ordered 2 glasses of McMannis cabernet sauvignon ($12) - gorgeous wine. We sat outside - the... Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
