Dessert was very good.

Lovely local restaurant in The Beach area of Toronto. Funky decor. I would certainly return if it was convenient but I would not make a special trip. Steak frites were good but the highlight was a lemon meringue cheesecake. I did not initially order it but my wife gave me a bite of hers which... read more

I went to Sauvignon Bistro tonight with my friend Trish and loved it. Seemed like the entire menu appealed to me but I settled on a special feature - meatloaf on mashed potatoes and vegetables. Meatloaf is one of those things that I have preconceived notions about what it is to be like because my Mom made it when I... More

We went here for new years eve and although it wasnt particularly decorated for the seasons festivities, the layout was really interesting as it's an old converted house. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the duck which was the best duck i had ever eaten, and my fiancé amd his brother both had the special which was the beef... More

My Girlfriend and I were thinking of going to the Distillery District for dinner but had a change of heart at the last minute as we were on the "beaches" area so we decided to go on an adventure and try a new restaurant in that neighborhood and so we found "Sauvignon". My girlfriend's friend suggested this cozy restaurant which... More

My friend and I had just seen a movie at the Beaches cinema and we fancied just a drink so we popped into Sauvignon. My friend had been many times, whereas this was my first visit. it was late, maybe about 9.30 and we ordered 2 glasses of McMannis cabernet sauvignon ($12) - gorgeous wine. We sat outside - the... A group of 10 of us went to Sauvignon to celebrate a Birthday. We were greatly impressed with how well our group was handled by the staff. They were very attentive. Everyone ordered apps, mains and desert. Each course arrived for all of our party at the same time. The food hear is fabulous. Perfect sized portions and the flavors... More

This is our go to restaurant in our area. We have gone to other high end restaurants and then always compare them to our meals at our local haunt. They have just extended their outside sitting which we have yet to experience. We have tried everything on the menu - and more than a few of their weekend specials. We... More

I took a client here for dinner and we both enjoyed. The service was excellent, as was the food we ordered. We both had scallops and linguine...great! I don't appreciate mushrooms so they were kind enough to substitute veggies. I don't know what kind of veggies (part of the sauce), but whatever they were, they were tasty. Nice neighbourhood restaurant... More

There are milestone restaurants (big anniversary, graduate from university, etc) that we go to every other year, and there are kilometer stone restaurants (finished a brute of a report) that we can go to twice a year. I visit Sauvignon twice a year, and my guess is most people there are there to give themselves some form of well-deserved reward.... More

We were looking for a restaurant that was convenient to an address on The Boardwalk and found it it at the end of the street on Queen in the Beaches. The food was delicious. The mushroom pate with pine nuts was so very good. The Caesar salad was very good and we loved the toasted Parmesan which was a part... More
