This is a great little French bistro near the Beaches neighborhood in Toronto, which is generally lacking in high quality restaurants (lots of chains/pizza places). The food is excellent and they have a great wine list. It's on a busy street so there is lots to watch from the patio. Prices are normal for Toronto and the wait staff is... More

Busy, welcoming room with wrap-around 2/3 bar, eclectic decor, and comfortable, if a bit crowded, seating. Warmly welcomed by staff, and we were able to grab a table even though it was already 6:30 and getting busy. Prompt service - water and bread within a minute of seating, but the evening didnt at all feel rushed. Evidently an efficient kitchen,... More

This is a perfect place to go in the winter. Has stick to your ribs food that is very tasty. They don’t try things too outrageous but all very delicious. The lamb shank is a perfect example of exactly the kind of food you would expect from Sauvignon. Comes with delicious creamy herb polenta that actually tastes like a really... More

First time at this restaurant. Was taken there by a friend who likes it. At first, I have to admit, I was a little concerned. They handed me a photocopied paper menu and wine list. I have no problems with that, but they were both wrinkled and stained and the wine list was actually wet. Didn't give me high hopes.... More

Was taken here for dinner last Friday night by an old friend to celebrate a new job I helped her get...and they made my evening start off great by getting me a frosty martini quickly when I arrived early. Service and food were exceptional...and they let us gab into the evening with no worries.

We like this restaurant so much that we travel here regularly from outside of the City. Great local spot with a small but flavourful menu offering. Service is always friendly and they have a good wine selection and wonderful deserts. The decor is cozy and creative.

I went here for dinner yesterday with a friend who lives in the area and who has always wanted to try it out. Sauvignon looks very small from the outside but it's actually really spacious inside. I had the oriecchiette and my friend had the special of the day which was a vegetarian dish with quinoa and curried vegetables and... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
