My friend and I had dinner here during Summerlicious. Surprisingly this was my first visit to Sassafraz, even though I'm a Toronto local! The food was beautifully plated and tasted fantastic! I had the buffalo mozzarella to start and we both had lamb as our main, which we loved! To finish it off I had the Pina Colada Panna Cotta... More

Went there today with family for summerlicious, were greeted by several snobby girls who forced us to sit at the bar to wait for our table to get ready. Our server Gio was really nice and friendly though. Food was mediocre, we ordered Lamb sirloin and Cornish hen. I dunno how but they managed to overcook a Cornish hen....was not... More

Went there for summerlicious with friends. The atmosphere was really nice. The server was really friendly and professional. Absolutely enjoyed our meal. We had beef tartar and Buffalo Mozzarella. The poached quail egg went really well with the beef tartar. As for the entree we had duck breast which was delicious. The orange reduction brought out the favour. Absolutely done... More

I'll certainly give Sassasfraz another chance but likely again only for an after dinner drink or desert. The night we went the place was dead (odd for a Friday) and frankly the service was adequate but not super friendly. That said, great spot and great espresso Doddsy.

I've been here three times and each time for brunch. Sit at the dining room on the left when you enter, and near the back of the room. I like the manmade, gentle waterfall by the wall and the natural light flooding in from the windowed ceiling. It's very peaceful, quiet, and posh. The food is good and they make... More

Went for Summerlicious, great menu options, and great service. I love going to Yorkville, just to walk around and people watch. It's a great place to have a great meal and enjoy the view from the large windows that open onto Cumberland. Definitely make a reservation in advance.

for years I have been having a deep fried calamari at my special table on the corner of Belair and Cumberland. Calamari and a Kiir - my usual. On Canada Day I visited to see if the old taste was still there. No - they stopped making it and have replaced it with 4 new alternatives. I asked for the... More

A pleasure to reminisce with you about the evolution of Yorkville over a plate of buffalo mozzarella. We're looking forward to your next visit. More

this is a lovely cafe, on a corner made for people watching. It is well worth grabbing a table outside if you can but if you sit inside you'll find tables that remind you of Paris and couch groupings which shout - sit, stay, and chat. It has great ambience and great vibe. We went for a summer brunch. The... More

After much walking in the neighbourhood my friend and I were getting seriously hungry and decided to try Sassafraz. We were very pleased with our choice. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. We decided in spite of the late hour to have brunch with a glass of bubbly. The creole eggs with sausage were excellent and... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring Toronto on a Sunday morning. They have an excellent patio, dining room/cafe area and bar. The brunch/lunch menu itself was intriguing and highlighted fresh ingredients and new takes on traditional dishes like omelettes, pancakes, and even a hamburger. Their drink menu was excellent as well and featured fresh fruit and even health drinks.... More
