I'm a Nova Scotian so there are two things I really appreciate. Great seafood is one and total lack of pretentious nonsense is the other. Rodney's does both! The oysters are the best anywhere, and I know of what I speak because of where I'm from and where I've been. Other shellfish dishes are done properly and without the nonsense... More

I have never liked oysters, I don't normally eat oysters but now I'm hooked. They were delicious and we tried approx. 7 different kinds and no complaints on any of them. They are very fresh and our Waiter Sean was a pleasure. He made our visit even better. Also had the Lobster Roll which was amazing as well and only... More

Was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews but it was close by and felt like some Oysters so what the hell. Found it no problem. Yes, downstairs, well lit, newish and quite modern. Quirky even. Shown table quickly even though we hadn't booked. Waiter a bit too smart at first but soon calmed down. Choices of Oysters great. Menu... More

If you are an oyster lover this place is for you! The place is in a basement, noisy, dark, the chairs are not comfy, BUT the oysters are wonderful! The selection, the handeling, presentation is top notch. I have had oysters in many restayrants, in all parts of the world, and still trying, and let me tell you: you will... More

We always enjoy going to Rodney's for Oysters. This particular visit was just for a quick bite with beer, but the service is always great, a huge variety of oysters and their food changes daily. Its a really relaxed atmosphere in a great part of the city.

This place is a terrific spot for creative seafood dishes. The location on King St. is in a nice area and the interior was nicely done in a seafaring theme. Our party of four was seated quickly and our server attended to us right away. He was quite efficient and very cordial all evening. I started with the corn chowder... More

I had very limited experience with oysters when I went to Rodney's at the end of January while in Toronto. I was very impressed with the knowledge that the staff had of the oysters and the helpful tips that they provided us with. It had never occurred to me that oysters differ that much depending on where they were from.... More

There is a reason Rodney's has been around forever - the oysters are the freshest and the best. There is always a great variety and the shuckers know what they are doing. If you sit at the oyster bar you can learn a lot about oysters! If you want a good variety of fresh oysters, this is the place for... More

I was there for lunch recently with a colleague who loves the place. I had been here years ago. And the oysters were great -- very fresh and with super explanations of the various types and the variety of sauces. The rest of the experience was middling -- the restaurant was pretty empty. There didn't seem that there were many... More

I live in the Boston area and our TA top-rated restaurant has the best oysters anywhere. The ones at Rodney's were good, but very expensive. Other dishes we tried including a red clam chowder and a tuna tartare were good, but again nothing special. The place is dark and feels like a leftover from 20 years ago. The service was... More
