Worthwhile to visit

We had a dinner at Rodney's following recommendation of the hotel personnel - they told Rodney's is the place for nice oysters and lobsters if you are after. What we liked there: easy atmosphere, bistro type of the restaurant. It is in a basement of the building and not spectacular, however makes... read more

The selection of fresh oysters is unbelievable. Japanese Kumamoto, Long Island. all kinds of Canadian oysters etc. Fish is not as varied because Rodneys does not sell endangered species or fish that could pose a threat to your health. Good service, a bit pricey.

Our dinner at Rodney's this time was ok but not great. Had a waitress with attitude like she didn't really want to be there. Malpec oysters were good but getting a little pricey. My wife and I ordered the mussels but the waitress came back and said they didn't have any. She made some comment about them being seasonal. I... More

This is a fun restaurant. We stumbled upon it during our exploratory walk through Downtown Toronto. We ordered the oysters and had a lot of fun trying out their different sauces. My husband commented the bathroom decor as a conversation piece... ahem!

A huge variety of oysters on the bed at all times. Friendly and engaging staff, and lots of non-oyster selections that are also excellent. Our kids had the fish and chips; I had their coleslaw from the plate and it is the best I have ever had.

Stopped for a snack before a game at Rogers. Oysters very fresh, great selection. Knowledgeable server. Beer and wine only. Nice.

Definitely a must try for the seafood lovers. Clam Chowder is excellent. loved the lobster club. Conveniently located in downtown Toronto, this is an excellent place for a date, or night on the town.

Our family of 4 visited Rodney's for dinner! (Kids aged 4 and 8) My husband and I have been to the restaurant before and we decided to visit again while on our family stay-cation. This really isn't a "kid friendly" restaurant, but we came prepared with colouring, iPads, etc. Yes, my husband and I wanted the oysters so badly that... More

Looking for great oysters in a relaxed atmosphere? Rodney has been delivering great food and service for many years and continues to do so. Went there last week after a few years away. Immediately felt comfortable and settled into a variety of oysters and seafood that was great. I won't wait so long for my next visit

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
