So not that this place didn't need a little reno but they completely changed it all. Walked in here I guess just before the official launch and we were shocked. I loved that atmosphere of the old place but now it looked like every other hipster joint popping up. Granted they did a good job but it hardly screams Mexican.... More

Well the new and renovated Rancho Relaxo Cantina restaurant has just started off with a fantastic new chef and menu and new look to the restaurant. My friends and i had the pleasure of a tasting menu from the chef that blew our minds. If you are looking for new and exciting flavours and twists in mexican food...yet retaining the... More

We loved both our meals, each got the Fajitas and were mouth watering. Romantic quaint vibe that is perfect for a date night or somewhere to take your family. you even hear live music from the room upstairs.

Comfortable quasi-Mexican atmosphere for a good time. Food is not spectacular but plentiful and served in a relaxing (as it says) venue. Owner has long supported Latin American community events. A good place to enjoy with friends.

I really want to like this place and give it a great review. I have been here a few times over the years and it's been pretty 'decent' however the last time we went the service was unbearably slow. We had to constantly flag the waitress over, who was the only waitress and also 'bartender' for at least an hour,... More

The service here is the best part. The people are so friendly, and they make a damn good margarita. I also love the extensive vegan options. I have made many visits to this place over the years, and always have a great time.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The ambiance has a nice Mexican feel to it. The Manager was very nice in helping us decide what to get. We started with 2 drinks not on the menu per her suggestion. The cosmorita was quite well made. The other drink was ok- don't recall what it was. For starters, we... More

This is a nice mexican restaurant! Quiet, nice tables with candles, love the decorations, and especially the VEGAN food choices! The vegan selections are clearly marked on the menu with a green leaf and they also have vegan desserts including vegan ice cream! LOVE IT! The staff is always welcoming and friendly with quick service! They have a fully stocked... More

This place was a complete disappointment when it comes to food. Our waiter was friendly but the chips he brought us to start were not good. The sauce for the chips (salsa de la casa) tasted like it came out of a jar (the bad Tex-Mex kind). We ordered enchiladas suizas and a trio of enchiladas with red and green... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
