I called to inquire about reservations for five people and was told we're not taking reservations tonight. The friendly voice said but I'll tell the hostess to look out for you at the time I wanted to arrive. Thinking nothing was amiss we arrived for a birthday celebration only to discover that the place was packed. The hostess looked incredulous... More

Friendly and fast service. Good food choices especially for vegetarians. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely fresh and healthy food and a nice atmosphere. Easy to stay there for a while - the Cakey are excellent!

Despite the temperature of 1F, I was glad I walked down Queens West to find this place. It sounds weird Thai/Lao/Italian…but the Laotian noodle soup was amazing and just what was needed on a cold day. Friendly, laid back, definitely worth the short walk.

Before heading to the AGO to see the local exhibit, we stopped for brunch at The Queen Mother Cafe. This place has been here on Queen Street forever, and I can't believe I hadn't eaten here before. It's in an old building, with squeaky floors, a bit old bar, and tables sprinkled around in the various nooks and crannies of... More

5 of us went here on a Saturday: 1 vegan, 1 meat-eater and three omnivores. It solved the where-to-eat dilemma nicely. We sat at the bar for 10 min while waiting for a table - all drinks came promptly and the bartender helped us carry everything over to the table when it was ready. I had angolotti with a pesto... Looked at Trip Advisor to find a dinner spot outside of the hotel routine and really was impressed by this choice. Thought that the menu was diverse, but wasn't sure if my 10 year old would find a good option. As it turns out, he chose the bacon wrapped sirloin (special) and I had the Pad Thai. I was impressed... My brother brought me here when I popped in for a short visit. I wasn't able to stay long enough to enjoy dessert but the entree was just delightfully good! I got the Ping Gai (boneless chicken marinated with garlic, coriander and black peppercorns, grilled crispy and served with a spicy lime and coriander dipping sauce, green salad and steamed... More

We had just flown in from the UK and after the long flight we just needed to find somewhere to eat and chill out with a drink and this was just the place. Friendly staff, great food and a chance to try a first taste of Canadian ale. We will be back next time we are in town.

My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of our food and the service we received. The Queen Mother was a cozy spot to grab a bite on a cold night. We visit Toronto at least twice a year and try to sample different fare at different places--we were so happy to stumble upon this location. I had... More
