There are really just a few restaurants I eat at that I ALWAYS eat the same thing at - okay, you caught me, really just ONE restaurant! And, you guessed it, it is the BBQ BEEF that catches my attention at the original Pickle Barrel, on Leslie Street in North York. Except the last time we visited just this past... More

Astonishing poor service. Might have died before being served. The restaurant was empty but we had to wait to be seated. The food is very ordinary. At least there is parking and the place is clean

We went for lunch and from the time we placed our order we waited over 45 minutes for our order. We asked the waitress how much longer we were going to wait and she brought over a complimentary loaf of delicious pumpernickle bread. The pickle barrel always has very good prices and big portion sizes. A huge menu with lots... More

My friends and I went there for an evening out. Huge cocktails and delicious food. I had the liver, I know, some people still like it! I got 3 pieces with onion and potatoes. Mmm! A rare find on menus these days. The waiter was accommodating and friendly. We ate and drank until it was almost closing and some of... More

The patio is nice on a hot summer day. I ordered the turkey burger and it came with Brie cheese and avocado (I actually commented on the fact that it was a lot of avocado to my friend, usually restaurants can skimp with it). I also added the extra fried egg on top. I forgot to let the waiter know... More

I have food allergies. I cannot have soy or shellfish. The manager tried to accommodate me, (she was sweet) and offered me a fruit cup on the house (she didn't have to do that) but there was not one food item on the menu that did not have soy. The steamed vegetables and boiled potatoes have chicken broth (MSG and... More

My son and I took my Aunt and Uncle for supper, their choice, on October 13th, 2013. My son loves the PB and has eaten at the one downtown when there for industrial events. We were initially left standing at the door waiting to be seated in a less than busy restaurant. Finally got seated and a seemingly nice waitress... More

We've being going to the Pickle Barrel for over 30 years. When we lived in Toronto it was the one in the Atrium on Bay. Now when we visit Toronto we come to this one, on Leslie. The menu has lots of choices. Still has favourites from when we started but is regularly updated. We've had various members of the... More

We went to this location of the Pickle Barrel twice in our visit to Toronto and enjoyed it very much. Both times I was with three of my daughters and my mother, they have something for all ages (if anything there is too great a selection). We loved the decor which is sort of friendly funky and the service was... More

I used to be forced to come here all the time as a child with my family. When I grew to realize how bad the food was I just refused. Once in awhile I have no choice but to eat here and each and every time is pretty gross. Its like they defrost the meals and put them in the... More
