A gem in modest setting - really tasty Vietnamese with pho like in Saigon. Be warned - the portions are XXL sized ie small equals normal main course size while large will already be a challenge. Price/quality ratio is excellent.

I've been going to Pho Hung for years, first as a student, and nowadays when I'm in the Yorkville area wanting some simple, tasty, affordable Vietnamese food instead of the typical eats of the area. There is nothing fancy about this popular, sprawling restaurant which is upstairs from the Chinese place whose name I can never remember. You've got your... More

Although my wife and I have had Pho here a few times, we find it a bit lacklustre in a few ways. There is always an overabundance of MSG, and the broth is often a bit thin. The Bo Vien are usually sparse, the tripe is good, the nam is sparse, and the tai is generous. in a Pho Dac... More

On a wintery night, Pho Hung looks very warm and inviting and is usually quite full. The food is OK, the service is OK, the prices are a bit high. If you are craving pho and in a hurry, it is reliable. Having said that, if you have a bit more time, or are fussy about your pho there are... More

The restaurant is actually located on Spadina Ave, south of College. When we went it was packed with people from all walks of life. The service is prompt and no-nonesense. We were seated immediately, given a teapot with two cups and two menus and an order sheet to write down our own orders. We both had the beef rice noodle... More

We like the one on Spadina Ave. Crowded with kids from the University of Toronto, because the bowls of soup are huge, and really tasty, and unbelievably inexpensive. A bit noisy, but service is prompt and you can't beat the prices. Perfect on a cold winter night when roaming around Chinatown and Kensington Market.

There is now just a hole in the ground where this popular restaurant used to be located on Bloor St, across from the Royal Ontario Museum. Another condo is going to be built on the site. There is another Pho Hung on Spadina with the same good cheap food.

It's hard to go wrong here. The dac biet is a tasty staple. I recommend the vermicelli rice noodle dishes. Fish congee also delicious.

The Spadina location moved south a block a few years ago, then expanded...we used to eat in the 'under construction' section with block heaters in the winter, but we never cared because it is the best inexpensive Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto! The # 29A is always a favorite and we also order the beef with the rice paper wraps (you... More

Service was quick. Interesting how they give you your own order sheet and you mark down the quantity and the Item# on this paper and the waitress takes it from there. I enjoyed what I ordered no complaints.
